A lovely house in a superb location . Very quiet & peaceful. Good central location for getting to most places. Well equipped & the shower was lovely & hot. Only downside for us was the heat pump heating. The sitting room was cold as its a big room & heatpumps dont seem up to the job of getting to a decent temperature, supplied wood was damp & WoodbuRead morerner is small compared to room size . We made good use of the blankets provided! Every house weve stayed in with heat pumps is cold!! Hide

A wonderful place to spend a week in a quiet and peaceful setting. The house itself is probably the best equipped holiday let we've ever stayed in and very much feels like a family home.

We had a lovely week in the house. It is well equipped and comfortable - although the piano needed tuning - with quality throughout. Dog loved the large garden and enclosed woodland; teenager preferred the ping pong table on the patio. It is well situated for getting to Buxton, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Castleton etc. There were no footpaths directlRead morey from the house but there are some close by, and the roads are very quiet. The pubs we tried were great and one was walking distance. A great place Hide

We had an incredible week at Hawkston Lodge and the quality of it all is fantastic, from the Aga to the crockery and linens, all wonderful. Fabulous walks, we were so lucky with the weather and were outside most of the time but we spent evenings in the dining room and sitting room which are so generous and comfortable, so many places scrimp on the Read moresocial spaces but definitely not here! Would totally recommend! Buxton and Bakewell fairly accessible for all provisions but a car is needed. Hide

Beautiful property, spacious in a perfect location! Would definitely visit again. Beds were really comfortable and the Aga is amazing, really enjoyed using that, and it's a fabulous social space too. The garden is large, and my dog loved the wooded area. Note that it isn't secure, and access to the area with saplings isn't allowed, but is only markRead moreed by a chain, not a gate. Hide

This is a wonderful spacious house and it was perfect for our weekend family get together. There is a lovely woodland behind the house and some good walks closeby. Buxton is close and worth a visit.
