We hired this cottage to attend a family wedding a few yards down the road at the Merchants Yard but stayed a little longer after the wedding. The property was perfect for 5 adults and 2 dogs and suited us all well. Could not have wished for a better location. Comfortable (lovely settees and excellent beds) clean (although dog friendly, not a hint Read moreof dog odour from previous stays), roomy and suitably equipped. A great base to explore the beautiful surroundings. Good pubs and restaurants and literally, round the corner, a great friendly place for a delicious breakfast ie the Tideswell Lounge. Even shopping is ultra convenient as the big enough co-op backs unobtrusive on to the cottage....we will return. Hide

A very convenient cottage - Tideswell highly recommended as a place to stay! Although 6-berth, the lounge and kitchen/diner are more suited to 4 - 6 is possible but would be a squeeze! We were just a couple so no problem for us.

Amber House is a lovely size and in a fantastic location in the village. We found it to be clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our week's stay, and the welcome basket was lovely. It's also a perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. The stairs from the kitchen up to the first floor are what I'd describe as 'deep' rather thanRead more steep, but worth noting. We prefer a walk-in shower, but the shower over the bath was pretty good so not a big issue. We'll definitely book again. Hide

Our stay at Amber House was lovely. Exactly what we needed to visit the peak district. Clean and tidy and communication and information on restaurant recommendations was much appreciated. Our Anniversary mini break was complemented by this delightful cottage. Many Thanks

Great location in the middle of Tideswell near to all pubs and restaurants. Well equipped, with nice comfy beds and a good shower. Was quite hot at night but guess that's a UK heatwave for you. Only downside is the church clock chiming right through the night but I doubt there's much the owners can do about that! Overall a good place to stay.

Great location, and a perfect size for six adults. Easy to find parking, and close to lots of pubs and restaurants. Stairs might prove a bit difficult for elderly guests or very young children. The kitchen was really well stocked with lots of equipment, including plenty plates, bowls, and glasses. Wi-Fi works great and the TV had built in Netflix.
