Whether you’re yearning for a romantic week away with your partner or an adrenaline-fuelled getaway with your close friends, this lovely cottage in the pretty village of Hope is ideal. Sitting in the heart of the Peak District National Park, there’s a whole host of hiking routes available right from the village. Spend your days rambling along winding rivers or scaling gritstone ridgelines, and your evenings sipping wine around the cottage’s quaint wood burner.

With its feature beams, stone fireplace and welcoming decor, this cottage is overflowing with country style. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s the perfect place to get away from it all. Start your day with a freshly-brewed coffee in the pretty little courtyard. After a day of adventure in the national park, stop off in the local farm shop to grab something delicious for dinner. Enjoy an intimate meal with your nearest and dearest in the cottage’s quaint dining area and then head out to the courtyard for a glass of wine. Alternatively, sink into the sofa in the living area and watch your favourite TV shows by the glow of the wood burner. At the end of the day, there are two charming bedrooms to choose from.

Go rock climbing or abseiling at Stanage Edge (6.5 miles), where the views of the Dark Peak moorlands are incredible. Or make your way into Castleton (2 miles) and take a walk up to the ruins of Peveril Castle, one of England's earliest Norman fortresses. Afterwards, enjoy a lazy lunch in one of Castleton’s pubs. Alternatively, head underground for an adventure at Blue John Cavern (4 miles). Check out the Waterfall Cavern, with its impressive multicoloured dome, and the Variegated Cavern, which is a massive 150-feet-high and 30-feet-wide.

I have recently returned from a week's stay at Bobbin Cottage. It was a brilliant base, perfect for the local transport and for getting in food supplies without the car (farm shop a few doors up, Spar, a deli and various cafes). There were also many walks from the door. The cottage was very well presented with a well equipped kitchen, a very comfRead moreortable bed in the main bedroom, good heating and a shower that was a joy. It was helpful to have a few maps to look at. Pity about the weather (unseasonally cold), but the cottage was certainly a good find. Hide

Bobbin Cottage is a bright and cosy, beautifully located home-from-home. It seems to have been recently refurbished and is impeccably clean and modern, with an excellent shower. Perfect for exploring the peaks, many walks start on the doorstep of the cottage. Before we even left we were planning to return. We didn't even need a car, which made the Read morestay even more relaxing and special. Hide

Wonderful, homely cottage that looks like it has been recently renovated. Everything was in good clean condition. The location was perfect to do walks from the doorstep. Have already recommended to friends and if we return to this area we would definitely book again.
