Situated in idyllic Alsop-En-Le-Dale, this delightful cottage is an excellent base for large families or groups of friends. Not only will you have miles of beautiful walking trails to discover, there are opportunities for cycling alongside adrenaline fuelled activities such as abseiling, caving and climbing too. Exert yourself on your adventures, then retreat to the privacy of the garden, a sanctuary with a bubbling hot tub that’s perfect for stargazing. On chillier nights, nothing beats curling up by the wood burner with a drink in hand.

Inside is the epitome of hygge comfort thanks to the timber beams and chic decor. Soak up the views across the countryside as you tuck into bacon and eggs in the kitchen/diner, sampling local coffee and planning your itinerary for the day. Entertainment is no problem when you consider the games room with its reversible air hockey and pool table, or while away the hours watching films and snuggling up in front of the lounge wood burner. The four bedrooms are beautifully styled and equipped with super-king zip-and-link beds for flexible sleeping arrangements. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there is a bathroom and shower room to choose from too. The biggest treat of all is the ample outside space which will tempt you with its BBQ, hot tub and fire pit.

Wild swimming, gorge scrambling or mountain climbing opportunities are there for the taking thanks to the diverse landscape of the stunning Peak District National Park. You’ll also be able to book guided tours if you’d like to scale the imposing peak of Kinder Scout (28.5 miles). If the thought of this fills you with dread, Bakewell is a delightful and sedate alternative – you can explore its honeyed-stone properties and tempting tearooms serving slabs of its iconic pudding.

Excellent location, facilities and cottage. The weather was warm but had broken from the super hot summer we were having which made the hot tub very enjoyable, especially on cloudless nights. Got caught in a downpour walking to Tissington along the trail, but made our way to Dovedale easily, and the pub at Parwich (The Sycamore Inn) was exceptionalRead more. Dropped the kids off at Alton Towers one day then headed off to Chatsworth and Bakewell. Nice tea and cake at Chatsworth farm shop. Went to cinema at Ashbourne to see Spiderman, and had fish and chips. Amazed at how many pubs there are in Ashbourne. Enjoyed watching the sheep dogs rounding up the sheep for fun, and watching the swallows, crows, and buzzards from the hot tub. A bit of a rural smell (the cows), but you get used to it, and the games room was great - pool table, table tennis, air hockey and darts. Bought some new darts though, as the flights had broken. A great week. Hide

Beautiful setting. Very well equipped cottage. Beds super comfy and can be twin or superking size. Downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom were a bonus for us as I was on crutches. Lovely welcome gifts/supplies. The garden/hot tub/bbq will be stunning in the Spring/Summer. We still enjoyed the hot tub, but it was wintertime. The views are spectacular.
