Perfect for family or friends, this high-end holiday home is pet-friendly and sits mid-way between Matlock and Matlock Bath.
Step through the front door and to the left of the entrance hall, the lounge is warm and relaxing, with comfortable seating and walls adorned with a collection of local artwork. To the right of the hallway the dining room is similarly colourful, with storage space for outdoor wear and a large map to inspire your adventures. At the rear of the cottage, the contemporary kitchen contains all the must-haves of home, including an air fryer and coffee machine. When it’s time to sleep, head upstairs where each of the double bedrooms is thoughtfully styled and conveniently close to an elegant bathroom complete with double sinks, a free-standing bath and a separate shower. Outside, the front garden has stone benches so you can sit and watch the world go by; to the rear, the private courtyard features a boot room with a handy shower for rinsing off muddy boots and paws.
With pay and display parking just across the road – the cottage is half a mile from both lively spa town Matlock and the vibrant riverside village of Matlock Bath, each of which has a railway station for effortless travel further afield. Often referred to as ‘Little Switzerland’, Matlock Bath is known for its dramatic limestone cliffs, riverside walks and traditional amusements, while Matlock offers independent shops, cafés, restaurants and the beautiful Hall Leys Park. Directly opposite the property rises the striking limestone face of High Tor, a favourite viewpoint for walkers, while Cromford Mills – part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site – is 2 miles. Other must-do destinations include market town Bakewell – home of the famous pudding – and magnificent Chatsworth House (both around 8.5 miles away), while closer to home the Heights of Abraham hilltop park can be reached via an exhilarating cable car ride.
