Perfect for a pet-loving couple, this pretty stone cottage is in the heart of Crich. Enjoy walks in the surrounding Derbyshire Dales, discover the iconic Tramway Museum, then cuddle-up before the wood burner or visit the village inn.

Enjoy a romantic break at this tastefully updated terraced dwelling. A lovely lounge welcomes your arrival; with a striking fireplace, warming wood burner and choice of soft seating, this is where two can unwind, watch TV and forget about the outside world for a while. When it’s time to eat, the chic, compact kitchen is close-by; take a seat at the breakfast bar as you discuss your next day’s adventures. Typically steep cottage-style stairs lead up to a beautiful king-size bedroom with its own TV so you can catch a late-night movie or the morning news bulletin. A glamorous bathroom heightens the sense of luxury. For a breath of fresh air, step just across the road and into a shared garden with a patio terrace that’s perfect for al fresco food and drinks. Parking is available on the road outside the cottage, so you can unload luggage and four-legged pals at your own pace.

Top of your to-do list while here is a trip to the National Tramway Museum (0.5 miles), a recreated period village with vintage transport. Alternatively, grab your hiking boots and head to Crich Stand (1 mile), where you’ll be rewarded with amazing views of a memorial tower and across the Peak District. Walk or cycle along the High Peak Trail (3.5 miles) – the former Cromford and High Peak Railway line now offers a level, traffic-free route with open countryside views. Discover more history in the market town of Matlock (8 miles) – a thriving tourist destination since the 19th century – and at the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site (7 miles), which has Industrial Revolution features including a historic mill, quaint cottages and cobbled roads.
