For couples who love any excuse to go on an adventure, the Peak District National Park is a treasure trove of scenic walks, challenging hill climbs and meandering riverside strolls. This beautiful cottage is positioned at the centre of the national park and is well placed for investigating said varied landscape. Follow scenic routes through Dovedale, a mesmerising destination known for its limestone ravines, tranquil rivers and iconic stepping stones before returning home to unwind with a glass of wine by the wood burner.

The cottage is one of several quintessential properties sharing a traditional country cottage garden with a manicured lawn, flowerbeds and impressive views of the church spire that looms overhead. Laid out in a conventional style with a compact yet comfortable bedroom upstairs, your accommodation features original beams, wooden lintels and an open fireplace that hosts a crackling wood burner. You’ll have everything you need to eat, drink and relax in the lounge and kitchen/diner, and there’s a contemporary bathroom for a refreshing soak.

Hikers and gentle amblers alike will be in their element discovering the local area, especially when you team your days out with delicious lunches at a welcoming village Inn. For something a little different, head to Matlock 12.5 miles away and visit the Heights of Abraham or delve deep underground in the caverns. Chatsworth House is guaranteed to impress in all its historic glory 16.5 miles away, and keen film buffs will recognise the gold stone frontage as the filming location for Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice. You’ll never be far from a tempting tearoom or a friendly cafe, and if you visit Bakewell 14 miles away you can sample a slice of the famous pudding.

What a gem! Quaint cottage, clean and well equipped. Even the fire was laid ready to be lit! Great location to explore the Peak District from. Lovely walks locally. The Sycamore Inn pub is literally a few steps away which did great food! Will definitely stay again.
