This unique one bedroom, Scandinavian-style cottage, is located as the name suggests, in an idyllic location on the banks of the River Wye, in the heart of the popular market town of Bakewell. Converted from an old sawmill, the building now offers quality accommodation in a pleasantly unusual position, with the original fabric and style of the building having been retained. The uninterrupted views up to Bakewell Bridge, and beyond and down river will be a fond talking point.

The interior also impresses, styled from the owner’s Scandinavian heritage and love of Danish design. Riverside Mill really is an oasis of Nordic calm in contrast to the vibrant market town a few minute’s stroll away and short drives to Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall. The accommodation is single level, but reached by a short ascending staircase. On entry, the apartment, has tasteful oak flooring throughout. To the left is the master bedroom, with its super king size double bed (this can be split into two singles on request) - the drama of the vaulted sloping ceiling adds to the room’s charm. On your right is a very generously sized bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen is just next door and to your left the open plan lounge dining area enjoys the stunning views of the River Wye.

Great location and very spacious. Parking is a short walk from the property as is the town centre

A lovely flat in the heart of Bakewell overlooking the river. Everything you need, comfortable bed and a lovely welcome pack including two small bottles of prosecco. There is a gorgeous bath and good shower. A lovely place to stay and explore the area.

A very comfy flat in a superb position. The view from the lounge is super. The bed was very comfortable. We had a wonderful week. The Chakra lounge, Raj Indian restaurant, the Lime lounge (for excellent coffee)and the Wheat sheaf are very highly recommended! We also had a very warm welcome at All Saints church.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent accomodation in a fantastic location, stunning walks along the riverside and to the local brewery. Plenty of places to eat and enjoy sitting by the river with a cold beverage. It was lovely listening to the geese and ducks in the mornings while enjoying our coffee. This is a pleasant apartment in a quiet but central area of Bakewell with a dedicated parking space about 100 metres away. There are lots of good cafs and restaurants just a short walk away and an excellent pub/restaurant next door.

The music from the Woodyard downstairs might annoy some people. The position of the apartment is perfect for exploring Bakewell and great to have a parking space.

We loved this apartment. It is clean, airy and the bed is really comfortable as was the sofa where we sat and watched the antics of the geese and ducks on the river. It was very warm during our stay and the air con is very good. Private parking was much appreciated and the apartment is perfectly located for walking into Bakewell which is a lovely tRead moreown.
