With pubs and other amenities within 500 metres, you’re off to a good holiday start here. Once suitably orientated and refreshed, within 2 miles you’ll have the choice of Treak Cliff Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Blue John Cavern and Peak Cavern. But this rural location also offers a plethora of options for climbing, cycling and walking – almost from the doorstep. For keen hikers, there’s Winnats Pass and Mam Tor (both within 2 miles), while 6 miles brings you to Bamford Edge. Both the pretty and famous town of Bakewell and the inspiring Chatsworth House and Gardens are worth a day’s outing (both within 15 miles). Stock up on a pudding at the former and take in some of the quaint streets, while admiring the stately interiors and extensive grounds of the latter.
