Embrace time alone or with your other half at this utterly stunning cabin, a true rural retreat where you can soak up the views and reconnect with nature, while having a digital detox. Listen to the sounds of nature, spend time just relaxing as well as getting out and discovering this part of Derbyshire. It’s so gorgeous, you might have to pinch yourself…
Wonderfully thought out, the glass wall of doors isn’t overlooked and so both your bedroom and lounge enjoy fab vistas, as well as a wood burner for cooler months. Full of light and kitted out in contemporary style with sleek lines, neutral decor with pops of colour and patterns, the general ambience of this luxury pad is calming. Behind the studio-style lounge and bedroom is the kitchenette, with a breakfast bar, again taking full advantage of that view. Open the bifold doors fully to extend your space out onto the glass-fronted terrace, or to enjoy an indoor-outdoor vibe. There’s another grassy area with seats, recliners and a fire pit, just down the slope slightly from the cabin.
Be still at home, admiring the glorious green view of the rolling countryside from your terrace or even from inside in cooler months, thanks to the bifold doors. You can arrange an art workshop with the owner if that appeals, too. Belper (3 miles) is an historic market town with cafes, eateries and independent shopping – it’s also part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. But, walking is surely a big deal here, with routes from easy riverside walks to more challenging climbs. Just take your pick and explore some of the pretty Peaks’ villages along the way. The Peak District National Park is 12.5 miles from this hilltop idyll, too.
