Entering the cottage via the back door, you will find the delightfully rustic kitchen/diner, which provides a characterful space for cooking and sharing all your favourite meals, featuring a farmhouse table, an array of appliances and utensils and plenty of original features. The first floor offers a light and relaxing lounge, perfect for unwinding in at the end of a great day. This floor also has a coolly decorated single bedroom and a stunning bathroom complete with a free-standing roll-top bath. The final bedrooms – a pretty single and a sumptuous double bedroom with a TV – occupy the second floor. Heading outside, a steep staircase leads from the back yard up to a charming, raised seating platform with views over towards the church, providing a delightful spot for dining alfresco.
Home of the Bakewell Pudding, the thriving town of Bakewell has a wide variety of pubs, restaurants and cafes along with the Bakewell Old House Museum. The town marks the start of the car-free Monsal Trail, and makes a wonderful base for discovering the part of the Peak District known as the White Peak. There are plenty of fascinating local attractions to visit including Haddon Hall, Magpie Mine, Chatsworth House, and the Nine Ladies Stone Circle (all within 4.5 miles).
