This cottage provides a fantastic base for folk who aim to explore the Peak District National Park on foot or on two wheels, with many picturesque walks and cycle paths to explore from the village.

For family and pet-friendly holidays in the Peak District, this modern cottage is the perfect choice. With spacious accommodation, an open-plan layout and a warming wood burner inside, plus a delightful courtyard and lawn garden outside, this is a welcoming and stress-free home away from home. Beyond the property, find challenging hikes, scenic strolls, reservoirs and historic sites, as well as a collection of quaint towns and villages offering a host of tempting places to eat and drink.

Leave coats, boots and leads in the welcoming porch before continuing through to this property’s stylish, bright and contemporary living spaces. The kitchen area is sure to impress any keen chef with its Belfast sink and large range-style oven, while the dining area beyond looks out through patio doors to the courtyard. In the evenings, fire up the wood burner and settle in for a cosy evening of TV or games with the family ahead of another action-packed day. Upstairs, three welcoming bedrooms have been finished in fresh neutral tones and a relaxing bathroom is a serene space to return to after a long walk. Step outside to dine alfresco in the courtyard garden while your dog explores the lawn area up a set of steps above.

A fantastic base from which to explore the Peak District National Park on foot or by bicycle, find many picturesque tracks and trails right on the doorstep. For a challenging hike, join the High Peak Trail, which stretches 17 miles from Dowlow (14.5 miles) to Cromford (2 miles). Take to the water with a spot of fishing, kayaking, sailing or paddleboarding on Carsington Water (4.5 miles) or enjoy a view from above with a cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham (3.5 miles). Back down on dry land, visit the historic Chatsworth House (13.5 miles) or sample a delicious sweet treat in nearby Bakewell (11 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at no 5. It was very well equipped with some very thoughtful touches here and there. We all enjoyed the treats a bit too much thank you Our 4 legged friend was also made very welcome and was super excited everyday for another adventure! The quirky garden added to this. High Peak Trail on your doorstep, MoRead morensal Trail from Bakewell and the Tissington Trail from this ideal location. All worth a visit. Tagg Lane Dairy is a must for any ice cream lovers! Hide

A beautiful, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location for exploring the Peak District. The lounge is on the smaller side, it was perfect for or family 4, but if grandparents had come as initially planned it would have been a bit of a squeeze!! The garden is very peaceful and secure for dogs, the top level can be closed by a gate making it evenRead more more secure. Had a lovely stay, cottage was beautiful, found so many walks/bike rides straight from the front door. Cottage is very well equipped for humans and dogs.

This is an excellent property in a good location close to tourist spots - most within a 30 minute drive. The property was clean on arrival, the kitchen is well equipped. The owners have provided dog bowls and treats and so our 4 legged friends are made to feel very welcome. Would recommend this property.

Well equipped kitchen with everything that you could need for cooking. Good sized BBQ for grilling when dining alfresco. Outside courtyard and garden both lovely quiet sun-traps for chilling out. This is a lovely cottage with a fab outside area that we made full use of. Our dogs loved the garden. Nice cosy & well equipped. In a brilliant location for exploring plenty of walking right from the door. Great wifi access. Good off road parking. Everything we could wish for to make a well deserved break perfect

Fabulous home from home. Home is equipped with good quality working appliances and a personal touch where needed I.e dog blankets, bowls and treats waiting in the laundry room & a notice board to add your dogs picture taken with a Polaroid camera (also provided). Fabulous walks on your doorstep and pubs with good food. We visited Abraham of HeightsRead more - lovely outing for the day and dogs are allowed in the cable cart.
