This cottage provides a fantastic base for folk who aim to explore the Peak District National Park on foot or on two wheels, with many picturesque walks and cycle paths to explore from the village.

The village of Middleton is situated close to the pretty market town of Wirksworth, a great choice for spending a day meandering through the variety of local shops, cafes and restaurants. For walkers, the nearby High Peak Trail provides an excellent starting point for a challenging hike. Nearby Carsington Water boasts a variety of scenic walks around the reservoir and beyond. Why not try a spot of kayaking, cycling, sailing or fishing. Matlock Bath has a huge selection of cafes and ice cream parlours and is also the starting point for the cable car that takes you to the Heights of Abraham. The old mill town of Matlock has a superb range of craft shops, independent stores and bars, whilst Chatsworth Estate is just 10 miles away.

Step into the porch and pop off your coat and boots and head through to the open-plan kitchen/diner which provides a spacious and bright space to rustle up a memorable meal for the family. The kitchen offers an electric range style oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Gather together around the dining table to plan the day's activities. When evening arrives the lounge is a welcome space to snuggle up on the corner sofa with a film on the Smart TV and the wood-burner roaring in the background. There is a handy utility space for drying clothes and washing machine if needed and there is a ground floor shower room with shower and WC. Heading upstairs to the first floor there is a family bathroom with bath and WC. The master bedroom offers a king-size zip-and-link (bed which can be made into a twin with 2'6" singles upon request) and there is a further double bedroom with lovely high ceilings and complimenting furniture. Finally, the smallest bedroom offers a small 4' double bed which is a little narrower than a double but bigger than a single bed providing a comfy space to get a good nights rest.

Outside there is an enclosed courtyard with seating accessed from patio doors leading from the kitchen/diner. Head up a flight of steps to a raised sloping garden with lawn (care to be taken with children and pets), further seating and views over the village rooftops. Off-road parking for three cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
