As well as the endless walking opportunities, you’ll also be within easy reach of Chatsworth House (6.5 miles), where you can marvel at the stunning architecture and immaculate gardens.
Enter the property via a porch, where you can leave all your muddy walking gear. Once inside, you’ll be met with warmth, character and charm. The cosy lounge, with a roaring wood burner and fabulous exposed beams, has large, plump sofas and quirky accessories to create a real sense of style. The bright and airy kitchen/diner has ample room for you to cook up a storm and enjoy wonderful mealtimes together around the dining table. The garden boasts glorious views over Lathkill Dale and is a lovely spot to enjoy dinner outside during the summer, either on the patio or at the bottom of the garden. The large lawn is perfect for children and four-legged visitors.
The cottage is just 2.5 miles from the bustling market town of Bakewell. The largest town in the Peak District is packed with photogenic stone buildings and has an impressive five-arched stone bridge over the River Wye. After a potter around the winding streets, pop into a cute tearoom to sample the town’s iconic pudding. From Bakewell you can access the Monsal Trail, an idyllic, traffic-free walking trail through the limestone dales. While away several hours at Chatsworth House, wandering around the grand rooms inside the house and enjoying long, countryside walks through the 105-acre estate.
