A lovely holiday home for couples and small families, the cottage is set in the idyllic village of Ashford in the Water and is perfect for exploring the heart of the Peak District National Park. With the River Wye running through the village, the cottage makes a tranquil retreat for walkers exploring the area’s beautiful peaks, lush woodlands and picturesque villages.
Entering this delightful cottage, the inviting lounge is an ideal space for relaxing in at the end of a great stay and features a wood burner set in a gritstone fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating so you can snuggle up and enjoy a film in the evening. The cottage kitchen/diner provides a sociable space perfect for cooking and sharing your favourite family meals. Upstairs, there are two light, relaxing bedrooms decorated in gentle pastels, each with views over the hills and fields: a charming twin room, and a pretty king-size room with a window seat and characterful storage space. This floor also features a stylish family bathroom. A small, covered courtyard area provides a pleasant space for a morning coffee as you plan the day’s activities.
With wonderful walks right from the doorstep, the pretty village of Ashford in the Water is a wonderful base for exploring the Peak District. Walkers can follow the Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail, or head into the bustling market town of Bakewell (1.5 miles) which has plenty of great places to eat and drink. Local attractions and landmarks include Chatsworth House (5.5 miles), Haddon Hall (4.5 miles) and the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath (11.5 miles).
