The delightful period property, on the edge of the village of Monyash, is the perfect rural bolthole, with a vast selection of walking and cycling routes within easy reach. Hop on your bike (or hire one) and head to Parsley Hay, where you can join the traffic-free Tissington Trail all the way through the heart of the Peak District National Park to Ashbourne. You’ll also find some fantastic walking routes within the rugged landscape of the Longshaw Estate (13 miles). The popular towns of Buxton and Bakewell are just a short car journey away, at 8.5 and 5 miles respectively.

The 18th-century stone cottage is cosy and inviting, thanks to warm tones and exposed woodwork. The lounge/diner boasts a roaring wood burner to snuggle in front of on chilly evenings as well as beautiful exposed beams to really add character and charm. At the end of the day, retire to the pretty bedroom which is decorated in neutral tones and features a spectacular cast-iron double bed. To the rear of the property is a delightful enclosed patio and lawn with outdoor furniture and magnificent views over open countryside.

You’ll find plenty to see and do in Bakewell, the largest town in the national park. Wander around its quaint stone buildings and admire the spectacular five-arched bridge over the River Wye. Browse the popular open-air market before popping into one of the many independent cafes to sample the town’s famous pudding. From here, you can easily access the Monsal Trail, which is a traffic-free walking/cycling route that passes through the stunning limestone dales. The Longshaw Estate is a walker’s paradise, where you can explore open moorland, gritstone edges and ancient woodland, all against the backdrop of the breathtaking Derwent Valley.

Comfortable, well equipped cottage in a lovely village. Just a cautionary note that there are steps out of living room to kitchen and steps up to bathroom from bedroom which could be problematic if you are less mobile.

Lovely cottage in small quiet village in a great location for local walks and for visiting nearby villages, dales etc. There is an attractive secluded garden for sitting out which catches morning and afternoon sun.

Lovely little cottage in an excellent location for walking, cycling and visiting local attractions. Well equipped with a nice sunny garden in which to enjoy a sundowner or two. Welcoming village pub a short walk away and essential amenities a short drive away in Bakewell.

I think that it shoudl be made clear that people with mobility problems might have some difficulty with the stairs, particularly between the kitchen and the living room.

The property was in a great location and very well kept up. The back garden was private and really big. A perfect place to take your tea or sit out in the evening.
