Property code: PK527

An enchanting 1850’s stone cottage nestled in a village with great access to the Peak District National Park. The enticing woodburner and charming exposed beams create an intimate atmosphere for cosy nights in.

For couples who love any excuse to go on an adventure, the Peak District National Park is a treasure trove of scenic walks, challenging hill climbs and meandering riverside strolls. This beautiful cottage is positioned at the centre of the national park and is well placed for investigating said varied landscape. Follow scenic routes through Dovedale, a mesmerising destination known for its limestone ravines, tranquil rivers and iconic stepping stones before returning home to unwind with a glass of wine by the wood burner.

The cottage is one of several quintessential properties sharing a traditional country cottage garden with a manicured lawn, flowerbeds and impressive views of the church spire that looms overhead. Laid out in a conventional style with a compact yet comfortable bedroom upstairs, your accommodation features original beams, wooden lintels and an open fireplace that hosts a crackling wood burner. You’ll have everything you need to eat, drink and relax in the lounge and kitchen/diner, and there’s a contemporary bathroom for a refreshing soak.

Hikers and gentle amblers alike will be in their element discovering the local area, especially when you team your days out with delicious lunches at a welcoming village Inn. For something a little different, head to Matlock 12.5 miles away and visit the Heights of Abraham or delve deep underground in the caverns. Chatsworth House is guaranteed to impress in all its historic glory 16.5 miles away, and keen film buffs will recognise the gold stone frontage as the filming location for Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice. You’ll never be far from a tempting tearoom or a friendly cafe, and if you visit Bakewell 14 miles away you can sample a slice of the famous pudding.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a well equipped dog friendly cottage close to the village pub, which serves good food and real ale. There are numerous maps in the cottage to help navigate the local walks. The villagers are friendly and helpful.

The cottage is in a really nice village close to the pub with its garden and right on the little road through the village - thats perhaps not clear from the ad. The bathroom is lovely and the space was really nice for two of us. The village is delightful - we walked from it in different directions and loved the open views and colourful fields. I suRead morespect this wont bother many, but we thought a bit of updating the crockery, cutlery and downstairs furniture would make it a touch more homely. Hide
