Escape to the country in this pretty stone cottage surrounded by an abundance of rolling countryside and impressive views, this is an ideal spot for those who enjoy a slice of rural life.

If you want to roam free at Mam Tor with your other half, or mountain bike in the Hope Valley with your mates, this pretty stone cottage in the village of Bonsall is the perfect accommodation option for you. Take your pick of adrenaline-fuelled adventure sports in the Peak District National Park, or chilled-out afternoons in the cottage’s garden taking in the unbeatable views. And in the evening, nothing beats gathering around the glowing wood burner to warm your toes.

 

Sleeping four people over two bedrooms, this smart country cottage is ideal if you want to enjoy a refreshing slice of rural life. After a day hiking or biking your way through the national park, return to your rural retreat and head to the country-style kitchen to cook dinner. Host a meal to remember at the dining table in the living room/diner, which offers wonderful views over the garden. After dinner, enjoy a glass of something cool and crisp out in the garden, or make your way to the living area, slip onto the sofa and watch your favourite TV shows in front of the wood burner. With its exposed beams and impressive feature fireplace, this is a truly lovely room to relax in. At the end of the day, make your way upstairs and you’ll find two country-style bedrooms.

 

The village of Bonsall is right on the 46-mile Limestone Way. If you’re not game for the full 46 miles, there’s a wonderful 3.5-mile circular walk between Bonsall, Matlock Bath and Cromford. Alternatively, head to Carsington Water (7.5 miles) and try your hand at windsurfing or powerboating. In the evening, there are a couple of lovely village pubs in Bonsall to check out.

Beautiful cottage in lovely rural secluded location, equipped with everything you can think of, very welcoming log burner , comfortable beds and lovely bed linen, the additional extras which owner provided were much appreciated , short walk into village where there are two lovely pubs serving bar food

Such a lovely cottage in the most beautiful location! Absolutely pristine and the owners little touches i.e. little text message prior to arrival, fresh flowers on the dining table, milk and tea cakes in the fridge, were a great delight and we thank them for the wonderful hospitality.

Croft Cottage is set in a beautiful location. Its really peaceful. It has everything you need, and the hosts are very helpful and welcoming. Its very clean and comfortable. You can get to walks in the Peak district very easily. We really appreciated the lovely log burning stove each evening. Really recommended

A lovely cottage in a stunning location. The cottage was home from home with everything we needed. Log burner, flowers, wine, cake provided a lovely surprise. The beds and pillows were so comfy we slept like a log. Fantastic.

In a secluded location, looking out on mature trees, a grand Victorian mansion and walled fields of sheep, this was a recipe for complete retreat from our busy world. What an exceptional place to stay, absolutely perfect in so many ways. Spotlessly clean, very peaceful and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners although next door were only there if you needed them. If you like rural retreats then this is for you.

Beautiful location, friendly owners, close to lots of activities in Matlock/Matlock bath, steam railway (EVR), High Peak trail cycling. Pubs in Bonsall 15 minute walk down the hill. Highly recommended.

Croft Cottage was very clean and well equipped for a family of four. I particularly enjoyed the beautiful view from the front of the cottage and sitting out relaxing with a drink. The location of Bonsall is quiet and the local pub, which is within walking distance serves a delicious pie. The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners live next door and were very welcoming and helpful. The location is great for exploring the Derbyshire peaks. There are two local pubs within walking distance and Matlock is a short drive away. Highly recommend and would happily revisit.

A lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Croft Cottage, being able to enjoy the amazing views and peace from the garden was especially special. We felt very welcome from the minute we arrived by Sam and enjoyed some good walks in and around Bonsall from the doorstep.

We had an excellent stay here. The cottage is more spacious than you expect from the photos. It also has fantastic views, with ample outside seating. It has a separate, extremely well equipped kitchen, a downstairs toilet and upstairs bathroom. No Smart TV. Sam is so kind and nothing is too much. Lovely welcome gifts in the fridge. Lovely, well equipped cottage with fantastic views (the photos don't really do them justice) and very comfortable beds. We stayed over Easter and the field next door was full of sheep and lambs which was a bonus! The location is great - really easy to get to lots of interesting places.
