From the cottage some of the best walking in Derbyshire can be found. Fly fishing on the world famous River Dove, which is a mere 400 metres from the cottage can be arranged on a day ticket basis which must be pre-booked. You are also at the gateway to the Dales and the Peak District National Park, the perfect place to enjoy long walks, leisurely bike rides or horse riding in the quiet Derbyshire countryside. The High Peak and Tissington Trails are within easy reach with cycle hire alongside Carsington Water for sailing and water sports. Chatsworth, the medieval Haddon Hall or in contrast Alton Towers fun park and spa can all be easily reached. Buxton, renowned for its Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, is a short drive away.
Enter the cottage into the utility hallway and into a cosy lounge with two large sofas and an armchair, just waiting for you to relax, put up your feet and not want to leave the warming spot by the wood burner. There is a LED TV with Apple TV, with access to all Freeview channels, Amazon prime, Netflix and BBC iPlayer, if those picture windows with views over the rolling hills don’t distract you. The country style kitchen/diner oozes charm with a range cooker with electric oven and 5 ring gas hob, fridge/freezer, ¾ size dishwasher, microwave and Tassimo coffee machine, this provides everything you need for a relaxing stay. The farmhouse dining table provides the perfect spot for an occasion dinner or a lazy breakfast. The downstairs bathroom offers shower over bath and WC. Heading upstairs the master bedroom boasts a huge super-king-size bed for a luxurious nights sleep. Why not bring a cup of tea back to bed in the morning and gaze out of the window to the hills that surround you. The next room along is a charming twin bedroom, with country cottage furniture and lovely views. Lastly, there is a separate WC.
