This lodge is nestled in a special spot, the views have to be seen to be believed. Perfect romantic retreat with a wood burner for those chillier evenings. One bedroom, open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining.

Whether you would like to try wind surfing on Carsington Water or a less energetic stroll through historic Ashbourne, you will be centrally located for many attractions. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Heights of Abraham, Tissington & Monsal Trail and Alton Towers are within easy reach. The views over Carsington Water are beautiful, yet only three miles from Ashbourne town centre. From the farm, there are walking, cycle routes and bridleways meaning you can explore the area without getting in to your car. On an early evening, you can walk to the local village pub which serves great food and Kniveton produced cider.

Stepping into the cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. The first thing you notice are the large windows that act as a picture frame to the surrounding rolling countryside. The focal point of the room is a cosy wood burner which is perfect for those romantic nights in snuggled up in front of the fire on the comfy sofa. The area also presents a Smart TV/DVD and extendable dining table if you decide to do a spot of cooking. The compact kitchen area offers an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher and fridge. At the end of the lodge is the double bedroom with built-in wardrobes and a comfy bed you wont want to leave. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious with electric shower over the bath WC and heated towel rail.

The outside of the lodge really makes this something special, there is a decked area to the front of the lodge to sit, relax and lose your thoughts over the sublime views. If you love animals, the outside space is perfect to relax and watch the sheep, Belted Galloway cows and Shire horses graze the pastures and meadows around the farm whilst soaking up the peaceful tranquillity. The rear of the lodge also offers a private patio area with seating and BBQ. There is ample parking around the lodge.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We were greeted on arrival by Craig who was instantly likeable. Aaron was met briefly and came across as cheerful and friendly. Any questions were easily answered. The lodge is in a beautiful location. It is quiet and so very comfy. Al the facilities were in very good order. The log burner was a big hit with both my wife and our dog. This is the ideal place to get away from it all and relax. The accommodations, the rolling fields of sheep, cows, and horses, the distant views of the countryside below, and the feeling of peace and oneness with nature were total perfection!

Ewe Lodge was a perfect retreat, quiet with beautiful views - a lovely place to come back to after a days walking in the peaks. We loved the sheep and horses that grazed close to the lodge and the log burner made the lodge so cosy for a relaxing evening

Ewe Lodge was very well equipped and had everything to make the most of a holiday in this area. The views were magnificent and the surrounding countryside with sheep, horses and cows a complete haven from everyday hustle. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful and beautiful location. The cottage had all amenities we needed for a week long stay. There are several attractions and walks accessible nearby - Carsington Water, Dovedale. 10 minute drive into Ashbourne for shops and restaurants.

This cottage must have the best views in Derbyshire. There was everything we could have wished for whilst staying with dogs. The owners were exceptionally helpful when I was taken ill and had to be rushed to hospital.

Ewe lodge is a little bit of luxury in a beautiful rural location. Beautiful views of the countryside & Carsington Water, a short drive to Ashbourne which has all the shops you need. Nearest pub is in a village called Kniveton, which is a 2 mile walk across country. This was a delightful lodge with wonderful views. The site was quiet and relaxing. Craig was helpful and we enjoyed the tour of the farm which he gave us. At the end of our week, we really didn't want to leave!
