A stunning cottage situated in the heart of the charming village of Hayfield and set on the banks of the River Sett. This property offers everything you need for a unforgettable stay in the Peak District.

Situated on the banks of the River Sett this is a truly unique cottage. The river plays home to an array of nature which can be seen from the comfort of your cottage. For keen walkers, the trails of Kinder Scout and the Pennine Way await. Hayfield is located at the north-eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, making it off-the-beaten track compared to some regions. The north of the Peak District is emptier, starkly beautiful, and attractive to those that shun the crowds. There are some great day trips to be had in the area, so make sure Blue John Cavern, Chatsworth House, Buxton Spring, Lyme Park and the Pennine Way are on your radar.

Wander along the garden path with the river to your side, step into the wonderful open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. A large corner sofa, decorated with bright cushions is positioned in front of the TV and feature electric flame effect fire. The dining area offers a table large enough for the whole family to come together over a celebration dinner. The kitchen is a truly special space with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the River Sett, so grab a stool and sit at the breakfast bar and enjoy the views, rain or shine. The kitchen hosts everything you need for a home away from home stay with electric oven and induction hob. The utility area offers microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer . Heading upstairs, the property offers three bedrooms, a king-size and a double, both with views over the river, and a twin bedroom (with 2’6x 5’6 beds), perfect for little ones. Completing the accommodation is the spacious bathroom with freestanding bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside, the property boasts gorgeous riverside views with private front and rear gardens, with seating to relax and enjoy the river and wildlife. You also have use in the rear garden of the beautiful wooden summerhouse with bifolding doors, inside there is a mini kitchen, toilet and a sofa with TV and Xbox, the perfect space for entertaining and relaxing alike.  There is off-road parking for two cars and bicycle storage available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage! Excellent location in centre of village, close to shops, pubs, and restaurant. Perfect base for walking and exploring the Peak District. Ground floor bright, open plan and contemporary. Comfortable bedrooms and modern bathroom. High quality finish and everything spotless. Patio area over looking river, was a perfect spot to sit and Read morerelax. Genuinely dog friendly! Owners very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property. Hide

Grotto House is a lovely property. It is well equipped, beautifully presented and an ideal base for visiting the Peak District. There are ample eating places ( pubs, cafes and an Italian restaurant) and local shops ( chemist, butchers, local general store and post office ) close to the house. The property is dog friendly and the owners provide bowlRead mores, mats and treats. Beautiful fresh flowers, biscuits, chocolates and Prosecco welcomed us on arrival . Hide

Grotto cottage is just lovely, my family and I would highly recommend staying here. It has been tastefully renovated in to an airy, comfortable place with everything you could possibly need from a holiday home. Kitchen and bathroom well equipped. Beds super comfy. Everywhere immaculate throughout. Hatfield itself is a great village to stay for walkRead moreing, pubs and cafes. Stunning house and location . Fixtures and fittings excellent . Extra touches, tea, biscuits and wine on arrival an added bonus . A lovely mini break enjoyed by six adults and two dogs. Highly recommend. Owners very amiable .
