Couples or families can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life with a break in this gorgeous lodge in the peaceful village of Clifton, Derbyshire. Tucked away on the outskirts of the southern edge of the Peak District National Park, this delightful property is surrounded by picturesque countryside. With its wealth of walking/cycling routes, some of which are alongside the river, its village pub and nine-hole golf course, it’s the ideal place to switch off and relax without much need to travel far. The property also has its own private hot tub to dive into of an evening for some stargazing.

Deceptively spacious, this charming lodge has been styled to emulate the interiors of much grander properties. Bold tones, classic furniture, quirky decor and contemporary twists combine to create a unique feel throughout. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is light and airy and allows you to spend quality time together whether you’re chilling on the sofa, dining at the table or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. On the same floor are the two well-presented bedrooms and the contemporary shower room. There is a lovely outdoor courtyard with a picnic bench for al fresco dining or evening drinks, and tucked around the corner is the private hot tub.

The town of Ashbourne, known as the ‘Gateway to Dovedale’, is only 1.5 miles away with its attractive architecture and cobbled streets bursting with independent shops and eateries. Keen walkers can join the Tissington Trail from here, which heads north to the National Trust’s Dovedale, one of the prettiest dales, whilst further on, it links up with the High Peak Trail. As part of the White Peak, Dovedale follows the River Dove and has impressive limestone hills and ravines for outdoor enthusiasts to explore.

This lodge was beautiful. Half boutique hotel, half home, have never stayed anywhere like it. And although finished and furnished to a high standard, it is also cozy and comfortable. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. And, stunning location.

Great little gem. Perfect location for travelling around the peaks. The dog had a belter of a time as did we! Cabin was clean and well equipped, the hot tub is the cherry on top! Also the pub is a stones throw and the landlord have great local knowledge to advise for days out. Also even better drinks on offer!

I absolutely loved staying here. The lights outside when we arrived in the rain were even such a welcome to what was indoors. All was beautiful and clean and very helpful with supplies for washing up etc. The location was great for walks and amenities. The hot tub was lovely for relaxation. To sum up in one word. Perfect.

Had a great 6 night stay in a warm, quality, comfortable Lodge. Furnished to a high standard. Beds very comfortable. Located in a quiet village with pub nearby but not far from Ashbourne. Was great to come back to a hot tub after a day sightseeing. Friendly owners on site if needed. Look forward to staying again. Would highly recommend.
