Head to the eastern edge of the National Park to Matlock and discover the Heights of Abraham (18 miles), famous for its landmark cable car which boasts a spectacular journey across the Derwent Valley. The popular towns of Bakewell (9 miles) and Buxton (4.5 miles), of both tart and water fame, are also nearby.
