This cottage is the perfect escape for families and groups wanting a quality and stylish base in the heart of this popular Peak District village with an abundance of countryside to explore all around.

Longnor has a local shop, a post office, excellent craft centre and tearoom. The old cobbled market square is in the heart of the village and its abundance of history can be found on a board outside the market hall. There are nearby caves and caverns to explore and The Roaches, with Hen Cloud and Ramshaw Rocks provide an abundance of rock climbing, cycling and walking. Dove Dale with its renowned steppingstones and the Manifold Valley are both within easy reach. The famous Derbyshire spa town of Buxton is a short drive with its Opera House, pavilion gardens and theatre. The popular market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne are both within a short drive. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Tissington Hall and Alton Towers are all within easy reach.

Head into the cottage through the big old-style front door and into the spacious lounge/diner. The lounge is a comfortable and inviting space with leather chesterfield sofas situated in front of the Smart TV, a great place to socialise and relax after dinner. The dining table is overlooked by a beautiful chandelier lighting and hosts enough space for everybody to come together comfortably and enjoy one another’s company over a special meal. There is a ground floor king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, ideal if you don’t want to hike up the stairs. Heading up a couple of steps into the kitchen which is sleek and stylish, with two electric ovens and induction hob, two dishwashers, American style fridge/freezer and washing machine. Chat to friends over the breakfast bar or head through to the games room with table football, sofa and Smart TV, great for the kids to break away and enjoy their own space. Heading up to the first floor you will reach a further king-size bedroom decorated with neutral tones and complimenting oak furniture, with nearby stunning bathroom which offers a freestanding bath, separate shower and WC. There is another king-size bedroom and a double bedroom on this floor, both offering stylish en-suite bathrooms with baths and WC. Accessed via their own individual staircases are the two second floor double bedrooms, decorated in neutral tones with lovely countryside views. Enjoy the quirky access under the low beams to their en-suite shower rooms and WC.

Outside there is a small courtyard with benches, great for enjoying some fresh air with a morning coffee. There is off road parking for two cars immediately outside the front door of the property with further roadside parking in the village square, just across the street, subject to availability.

There is no parking outside the property. A notice has been put up & even tho we had only just finished unloading we had locals rapping on window shouting for us to move our cars. The car park is opposite the premises & only a few feet to walk but misleading in online description. Apart from this we all enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely amazing house. Spacious, comfortable and with numerous and good quality kitchen equipment and appliances. The games room is great for kids. The outside space was small but a lovely sun trap and perfect for sitting in the evening with a glass of wine. We had a fabulous time in the Horseshoe Inn.

We stayed 6 nights after restrictions relaxed on April 12. It was just 4 of us taking advantage of 50% discount offer so not a typical sized party. We absolutely loved taking over the inn and everything was very comfortable and spacious with spectacular views from some of the bedrooms. The table football was great fun for kids and adults alike. Longnor is a fantastic location for keen walkers like us. Horse Shoe Inn was lovely and clean, pleasantly warm (despite being so big) and well equipped. It has a cosy and spacious feel to it. The house was perfect for our group of friends. The location of the house in the centre of the quiet village was excellent and very convenient. Amenities there were perfectly adequate. I would stay here again.

Lovely place to stay in a group. Kids described the house as epic and I think that sums it up! Were already considering a return visit... The surrounding area is ideal for outdoors adventures. The village has the essentials coffee shop, pub and a restaurant/bar. Just check theyre open (quite seasonal). All in all a great place and location.
