Stroll along the streets of Bakewell and soak in the impressive architecture, scope out the weekly market, or indulge in the iconic local delicacy, the Bakewell pudding, each within 400 metres. Pack a picnic then hike through the rolling emerald landscape and alongside the meandering river banks on the Lathkill Dale Loop from Smith’s Island Car Park, 300 metres. Adventure-seekers will delight in descending into the mysterious Treak Cliff Cavern, 15 miles, to scramble through cave formations and spot the famous Blue John stone.

• 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
