In the heart of the breathtaking Staffordshire Moor, set within 8 acres of land, this 17th-century cottage is a haven for outdoor lovers and adventure junkies. When you aren’t trekking the moors and scaling the heights of the nearby Peak District, make a splash in the shared indoor heated swimming pool, steam room and sauna. With just one bedroom and no children under 16 years allowed, this is the perfect rural bolthole for a couple’s countryside escape.
Exposed beams, wooden floors and original features throughout give the cottage a wonderful character and charm in keeping with its rural surroundings. Pour your morning coffee into a travel mug and feel the crisp country air on your cheeks as you enjoy an early walk alongside the on-site lake. Once you are finished exploring for the day, sink into the roll top bath and soothe any aches and pains, curl up next to the lounge’s roaring wood burner, or relax in the shared sauna or steam room (both available soon). All on-site facilities are shared with two neighbouring properties (please check time restrictions).
Known as the ‘Queen of the Staffordshire Moorlands’, nearby Leek is a must-visit. It lies a short 4-mile drive from the cottage, studded on the edge of the Peak District, and its rich, Napoleonic history makes for a fascinating afternoon trip. Of course, this area is best known for its active lifestyle, with its incredible scenery home to a huge variety of activities for guests to sink their teeth into. Walking and cycling are the most popular, but why not release your inner thrill seeker and try something more daring? Climbing, caving, and even pleasure flights will help you see the sights from a different perspective (and get your adrenaline pumping!).
Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
