One of five cottages located on a working farm surrounded by rolling hills on the edge of the Peak District, this cottage is ideal for couples, friends and small families wanting a rural escape.
Studded against the backdrop of the rugged Staffordshire Moorlands close to the Churnet Valley Railway, Froghall is a quintessential village location with huge potential for adventure. Sleeping up to four guests, this former barn is a great choice for couples and small families and has plenty to entertain your entire party after a day of exploring the countryside. Bask in your surroundings and admire the views, taking in the sunset whilst relaxing by the firepit.
Inside is comfortable with painted stone walls and practical flooring underfoot to take care of any muddy footprints. Return from a wander through the village with local produce and transform it into a feast in the country cottage-style kitchen, serving up delicious meals around the table in the lounge/diner. This room is the perfect space to unwind after your adventures, especially once the children are tucked up in bed and you can sip a glass of wine in comfort. The bedrooms are upstairs and feature sloped ceilings, timber beams and attractive furniture, both of which have an en-suite shower room apiece. Outside, there is a private patio that opens out onto shared gardens where the youngest visitors can play in the ‘messy’ barn whilst, for the grown-ups, the firepit and games will certainly appeal.
Board a steam train at Froghall station and meander along the tracks, pause for lunch on a walk along the Caldon Canal and take a day trip to beautiful Stoke-on-Trent to visit the museums and browse the shops. Alton Towers is 7 miles away if you can’t resist the white-knuckle thrill of the rides, plus there is CBeebies Land for the tiniest of guests. Dovedale provides even more scenic walks just 10 miles away, welcoming you to the Peak District with impossibly steep hills and meandering rivers.
