An attractive stone property with wooden beams nestled on the edge of the pretty village of Hope. This is an ideal location for those looking to explore the wonderful Peak District scenery on foot.

The village of Hope offers great amenities for guests of the cottage, including groceries, a railway station and a post office. Of course there is also a local village pub, The Cheshire Cheese Inn for resting those aching legs after traversing the Pennine Way. For those seeking a gentler walk, the nearby Hope Valley offers various walks through its pretty landscape. The River Noe runs along the boundary of the property and provides wonderfully tranquil walks along the riverbanks.

This apartment offers a brilliant one level living on the ground floor of the charming stone property. The property is positively brimming with character from the fine oak doors and flooring which gives the property a lovely sense of warmth. The lounge has exposed ceiling beams that give the space a cosy feel, and an electric gas coal effect fire provides a central feature to the room. There are two sofas in the lounge, one of which can be turned into a sofa bed if required. Windows overlooking the patio area ensure that the room is bright and airy. The kitchen is well equipped and opens out into the dining area which has a farmhouse style table.

The bedroom is located just off the lounge area and contains a double bed with an additional sofa bed available for occasional use (additional charges apply). The shower room has a small step into the shower and hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a charming private patio area perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the views of the River Noe.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Went with friends, they had this apartment and we had upstairs. Great for a break with some "space as well". Lovely accommodation really well converted and quality all round

We had a lovely welcome from Nigel who gave us a tour of the apartment making sure we were familiar with all of the settings for the heating and electrics. The apartment was lovely, warm and cosy. We will definitely be visiting again.

This was our second stay at Lower Cottage and it was every bit as enjoyable as before. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. The location is ideal for walking and our 2 westies soon settled down and enjoyed their walks along the river and beyond! It is a very peaceful location with just the flowing River Noe and the Read morebirds to listen to and only a short walk to the nearest pub and shops! Hide

The cottage both upper and lower apartments, are fully furnished and excellent to stay in. There is a river that runs by the property and has a number of walks very close. The family make you very welcome and even after 2 visits we are planning to go back for a third as we love it so much. Great place to be.

Tranquil location, short walk to village, local amenities and pubs. Plenty of options for walking/hiking directly from cottage, without needing to drive. Cottage is lovely and the hosts very welcoming and helpful about local area. Definitely would recommend!
