Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this property is brimming with character and offers guests a great base from which it explore the many attractions of this spectacular area.

Situated close to the impressive rock escarpments of Curbar Edge which line the sides of the valley, the property is a great choice for those wanting to explore the Peak District. The pretty market town of Bakewell is just a short drive from the property and offers a wonderful array of shops, cafés and restaurants to explore. The majestic country house of Chatsworth is also nearby and a wonderful place for spending an afternoon.

One of two cottages in this location, entry to the property is via the fitted kitchen which contains all the essentials that guests require. The open-plan lounge-dining area is full of character from the exposed wood beams and a beautiful exposed stone wall which creates a central feature of the room. The space is a good size, yet cosy enough for an intimate night in watching TV after a day spent exploring the Peaks.

Stairs lead up to the charming bedroom which contains a double bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower-over, hand basin and toilet.

Outside, the barn has a delightful patio seating area that’s perfect for a BBQ and al fresco dining. Of course if guests are seeking something a little cosier, the Bridge Inn pub at Curbar is a great spot for a delicious pub meal.

The property is one of two cottages in this location. Booked together they can sleep up to four people.

This is part of two linked barn conversions that have been superbly renovated, and are very warm and comfortable. The village is quiet with great walks all around and dramatic views of the Derbyshire dales from nearby Curbar Edge. My only niggle would be that there is no soundproofing between the two halves of the barn, even a quiet conversation caRead moren be clearly heard word for word next door, so if you have noisy neighbours (fortunately I did not) then there could be sound disturbance issues. Wonderful location, perfect for exploring on foot from the door and further afield by car. Property has everything you need and owners are friendly.

The cottage was very overpriced for its condition and equipment provided. Had to clean several items in the kitchen as they were coated in meat fat. No hand soap was provided in bathroom or kitchen. Bathroom had a strange smell like nicotine smoke.
