This central village cottage is perfect for couples and small families wanting to stay in a Grade II-listed traditional Peak District cottage. There is a popular pub and a variety of shops a short walk away.

A charming, converted pub ideally located in the heart of Bradwell, this rural hideaway is perfect for adventurous families or groups of friends exploring the Peak District with their four-legged pals in tow. Venture into the limestone caves of Blue John Cavern and soak in the impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations, then warm up in the ambient glow of the crackling wood burner with a pre-dinner tipple.

This two-storey property boasts an inviting country interior with beamed ceilings, bright open-plan social spaces, and warm wooden features throughout. Store your coats in the hallway then ascend the staircase to the first-floor lounge/kitchen/diner. Prepare some drinks then flop down onto the comfortable seats and rest up wear feet in front of the fire while the resident chef cooks up a storm in the shaker kitchen. Crack open a bottle of wine then gather around the wooden dining table to feast and plan out the up-and-coming adventures. Retire to the airy bedrooms consisting of a ground-floor twin and a first-floor double with peaceful views over the village. Embrace the afternoon sun in your private section of the lawned garden where you can perch with a cold al fresco drink and nibbles.

Adventure-seekers can trek along the trails to the gritstone outcrop of Back Tor for a blustery summit photo, accessible from Bradwell Memorial Hall, 200 metres. Explore the outstanding Hope Valley and pass through the spectacular Winnats Pass, 4 miles, then visit nearby Bakewell to soak in the town’s rich heritage and refuel with a traditional Bakewell tart, 10 miles.

We really enjoyed our short break at this cosy, quaint and comfortable cottage. We received a lovely warm and friendly welcome from the owners who were most helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We can recommend the fish and chip shop and the Shoulder of Mutton across the road! Handy to have a Co-op in the village too for the daily newspaper. Excellent property, only had a couple of issues, the tv channels randomly dissappear, although the apps like netflix work great. The internet connection is excellent. Also the shower is fantastic after a good walk around the dales, although couldnt get a hot bath. But assured that this will be addressed. All in all a great break in a lovely place.

A lovely clean and cosy cottage, very well-equipped. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and were only too happy to offer advice on the local area and amenities. A great place to use as a base to explore and it stayed cool in the heatwave! Thank you for sharing the garden too, a peaceful and shady place to rest.

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. There are 2 small supermarkets, a Fish and Chip shop and a pub serving good food all within easy walking distance. Also an ice cream shop serving locally made ice creams! Bradwell is a good base for visiting the Peak District.

We made a last minute booking for two nights at this tastefully decorated, modern conversion of an old coaching inn. Very well appointed with all the equipment youd have at home. We had a dog with us and there is a large private garden behind the owners home which we could take her into. Pubs and shops all within easy walking distance.
