A picturesque stone cottage situated in the heart of the village of Tideswell. Nearby walking and local amenities make it a great choice for those seeking village life and easy access to the surrounding countryside.

Enjoying a village location, this cottage benefits from the local amenities on offer which include a local pub, The Horse and Jockey which is a great spot for resting aching legs after a day spent walking the Peaks. The Monsal and Millers Dales offer outstanding walking routes through the weathered landscape of the Peak District.

This cottage is accessed either via the stable door leading to the kitchen or via a small porch which opens into the open plan lounge-diner. There is a log burning fire which makes a central feature of the room, and country style wooden flooring provides a wonderful feeling of warmth throughout the space. The property is brimming with character throughout, including the exposed beams in the ceiling of the lounge. The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessities guests will require during their stay, and has an exposed stone wall which adds to the country cottage charm of the room and lovely underflooring heating to keep your toes nice and warm.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, the first of which contains two single beds and off the same hallway down a few steps there is a spacious master bedroom with king size bed, this is a peaceful room with a stunning double height ceiling.  There is a modern bathroom also off the hallway which consists of a spa bath, shower-over, hand basin and toilet.

Outside there is a patio garden to the front of the property with a lovely BBQ area and garden furniture for a spot of al fresco dining. Or why not sit on the terrace accessed from the first floor and enjoy the sunshine whilst taking in the lovely hillside views.

We spent a very cosy Christmas in Marmalade Cottage with added benefits of the log burner, underfloor heating, excellent shower & spa bath. Would love to come again in better weather to enjoy the garden and rooftop terrace. The double bedroom was quiet and the bed extremely comfortable. The cottage could not be more conveniently located in this friRead moreendly village with all facilities within walking distance and good hikes from the cottage or just a short drive away. Marmalade cottage is everything anyone would ever want for a cosy stay in a beautiful village. Added extras like a jacuzzi bath, underfloor heating, quality of the decor, furniture and fittings and all the added extras for a comfortable stay. The wood burning stove was one of the easiest I have ever found for efficiency and lack of hassle. For a loRead morenger stay a washing machine and tumble drier would have been an added bonus for the wet muddy days. One of the best properties we have ever used. Hide

The cottage was lovely. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. The owners had included clear instructions and useful information about the area in general. Tideswell had everything we needed, a co-op, bakers, post office and nice places to eat.

Fabulous cottage. Superbly equipped, very comfortable and in centre of Tideswell. Owners delightful to deal with. Would stay again and recommend to friends. No mobile coverage on EE but daughter had service on O2. Very pleasant garden and roof terrace for G&T etc. Some road noise.
