The cottage is lovely, and in a great location. It is comfortable and well equipped. Delightful cottage, warm and cosy, well equipped and right across the road from a pub. Only open weekends at present but their take out fish and chips was a Friday night treat. Community run village shop also close by and great for basics. Walkers are spoiled for choice. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are nearby too. The stairs are narrow and steep andRead more necessitate cautious negotiation. A great choice. Hide

We had a lovely week staying in Marmalade Cottage (family of 4 with children aged 9 & 11). It is very comfortable and well-equipped, in a very characterful village. Thanks to some good weather (finally!) we made good use of the garden. The pub opposite the house was closed but comments in the visitors' book were positive. There's good walking in anRead mored around the village itself, but you are also well located for Matlock, Bakewell, Asbourne and others. Highly recommended. Hide

Characterful and comfortable cottage in heart of Winster. Opposite the pub and a minute from the well stocked village shop. Great walking and cycling from the door. Great!

Lovely cottage in a great area. Village small and friendly with a little shop for essentials. Pub opposite offered take away meals including Sunday dinner at the time. The cottage itself was full of features, the best being the real fire and there was wood and kindling already there for first use. Property was very cosy and warm with a good hot powRead moreerful shower and really comfortable beds. Some might find the staircase an issue as it is steep and tight. Needs extra care when using. Our third stay. Beautiful, old stone, comfortable, spacious but cosy. Kitchen, whilst small, well-planned and equiped, is a pleasure to cook in. Good quality cutlery and crockery. Beautiful garden. Stairs are difficult. The only rooms which look onto the garden are the very small upstairs sitting room (letting onto the small terrace) and the bathroRead moreom. Other rooms look to the pub and road (but very, very quiet). Good community shop. 2 pubs, with food. Interesting village. Hide
