Great location for peace and quiet in a friendly village. There were some slight issues with cleanliness but overall a very enjoyable week away. There are some great surrounding places to visit such as Chatsworth House, Buxton, Eyam and Matlock Bath. The car space is tight but manageable. Others have said there is little light, and this is fair, buRead moret we felt that the lighting was adequate with the lamps provided. This was a very well equipped cottage and a real escape. Hide

+ Well equipped kitchen + Comfy beds + Great local shop + Spacious rooms + Easy access to local tourist areas, walks etc - 'Off road' parking is actually squeezed in against the front of the cottage, partially on the narrow road, to describle this as 'off road' is a misrepresentation - Mouldy shower screen - We had to deal with previous incumbents Read morerubbish sacks (multiple) surely cleaning staff should not leave this for us? Grim - Poor lighting - No welcome pack, not even a pint of milk Hide

A really nice cottage. Well appointed, very clean with cosy rooms and comfy beds. I banged my head on the low door frames a couple times, but that's to be expected with such an old building. Proximity to the pub was very handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely cosy cottage with retained period features. Ideally situated for walking and sightseeing in the area. Nice pub opposite, although not open every day and excellent community village shop/Post Office a very short walk away.

A perfect cottage, with its own parking spot. The village shop is a 1 minute walk away, well stocked and open every day. The pub opposite, not a noisy neighbour, is open at weekends, with takeaway options.. The back garden has two patio areas, one for the sun and one in the shade. The cottage is well equipped, with everything in good working order.Read more The phone signal, as for most of Winster is nonexistent, but the cottage WiFi is excellent. Hide

Lovely cottage, very well equipped with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Everything is of a high standard and spotlessly clean. Only thing to be careful of is the doorways are low, so if your tall be mindful. The village is beautiful and has an excellent shop good for all the basics.
