Close to the historical town of Buxton, this property enjoys an enchanting position at the north-west fringe of the Peak District National Park. It's bursting with character from the wooden floors and beams.

An ideal location for exploring the rugged landscape of the Peak District, guests at Meadow Cottage can enjoy long walks through the countryside, taking in the field patterns which this area is renowned for. The historical spa town of Buxton is just four miles from the cottage and offers a wealth of culture, from theatre to the opera house.

Inside the cottage there is a main hallway off which there are two ground floor bedrooms which have delightful wooden floors giving them a cosy cottage feel. The main bedroom is a spacious double and the second bedroom contains two single beds. Both rooms enjoy exposed beams which add to their charm and character. There is a bathroom on this floor which consists of a bath, shower-over, hand basin and toilet.

Stairs lead up to an open plan kitchen, lounge-diner with wooden flooring and exposed king post trusses that make the room bright and spacious yet warm and cosy. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities.

The third bedroom is situated off the living space and contains a double bed. There is also a bathroom on this floor and contains a shower, hand basin and toilet.

Outside the cottage there is a pretty seating area at the front of the property. The owner’s spacious grounds are accessible to guests as advised by the owner.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Our stay over Christmas in the cottage was great. There was space for all 5 of us incl the dog. It is on a working farm with welcoming hosts and farm cats. The welcomed us on arrival offering storage for my husbands bike and a hose for him to clean it down after a ride. Even though their home is within the grounds they left everybody to enjoy theirRead more holidays but were available if nec. The location was great for either Buxton or Bakewell and you could walk onto the monsal trail from the farm Hide

Stayed for a long weekend, fantastic location! Right by the Monsal trail which was a fantastic walk with good paths and lots to see!! Close to Buxton and Bakewell amongst lots of other smaller villages- we loved Great Longstone, pretty village with a couple of cosy pubs... fab Sunday roast at The White Lion! The cottage was very nice and quiet and was set in a lovely location,our boys were able to play football in the field,which kept them busy.We had two dogs that were able to be be taken out safely.We had a couple of minor problems that were soon fixed by the owners.One thing we did find is the stairs leading up to the sitting room were very steep whRead moreich made it a little awkward for my wife and 13year old dog,apart from that it was lovely. Lovely cottage, in a lovely location. We were lucky enough to be there with many ages of calf present - my toddler loved looking at all the cows and calves. The cottage was well laid out and comfortably set up. Having one en suite double upstairs with the kitchen and lounge was useful for my elderly mum - once in the cottage and upstairs she didn'tRead more need to use the stairs again until we went out on day trips.
