Head to the former mining village of Bonsall in the Derbyshire Dales and venture into the magnificent Peak District. This traditional, stone, two-bedroom cottage sleeps four guests and could be ideal for two couples or a small family. Take one very contented canine with you too to enjoy the fun and possibly to follow the High Peak Trail, which begins 3 miles away and passes close to the village.
Open the front door of this village home and find yourselves in a welcoming, country kitchen/diner. Light the wood burner in here and make a fresh pot of coffee or prepare a tasty meal, with fresh, local Derbyshire produce, for everyone to enjoy at the table. Wander on through into the lounge, where a second wood burner is situated. Stoke this one up too, find a film on TV then relax on the comfortable seating while the fire crackles in the background. Make your way up to the first floor at the end of each fun-filled day. Discover a king-size room, with an en-suite bathroom and a ladder up to a mezzanine level. There is also a double bedroom, with en-suite shower room. Enjoy breakfast out in the courtyard garden to the front of the property. Find parking is on the road, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Stroll less than 250m from home to find yourselves in the southern part of the Peak District, with its incredible scenery. Walk, cycle of drive 5 miles to beautiful Carsington Water, where you can take part in a variety of water sports. Venture 3 miles into the bustling village of Matlock Bath to potter in the shops and eat out in cafes and pubs. Visit the famous Heights of Abraham country park, 3 miles away, with its cable car and cavern tours.
