Attractions further afield include the Blue John Mines, Treak Cliff Cavern and Speedwell Cavern, a flooded underground cave system that is explored by boat. Well worth a visit is Lyme Park and Hall where Pride and Prejudice was filmed in 1995 and Peveril Castle, situated near Castleton built in 1080. Also, Derwent Valley with a picturesque series of dams and reservoirs where the 'dam busters' trained. In the immediate vicinity of Moorfield are the hills, valleys and streams that make up The Peak District National Park. The Pennine Way is also within two miles and the peaks of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow are within easy reach. The market town of Glossop, with its transport links to Manchester and local towns is close by.

Enter the property into the incredibly spacious, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen area offers electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge and there is a dining table large enough to comfortably seat four. We were very pleased with the cottage. It had everything we needed. A good location for walk. We would recommend it. The only thing we were disappointed was the view.
