This former pub boasts a unique dining conservatory with a bespoke mural providing a memorable place for a celebration dinner. Come together with family and friends to relax and unwind with good company.

The spacious property, just off the main road that runs through the village of Waterhouses, sleeps 12 guests, making it ideal for large family gatherings and celebrating special occasions. The property has ample outdoor space and a hot tub to sink into at the end of a busy day. There’s a great choice of walking routes in the area, including the Manifold Track, which starts in the village. Nearby family attractions include Peak Wildlife Park (2.5 miles), Alton Towers (6 miles) and Chatsworth House (26 miles).

The large former pub has a unique sense of style, with grandiose furniture, striking period features and bespoke artwork. Come together to make memories in the impressive conservatory, where you can enjoy special mealtimes around the grand dining table looking out over the grounds. Unwind in the characterful lounge, with its exposed beams and double-fronted wood burner. Cook up a storm in the magnificent oak kitchen/diner or entertain your fellow guests at the piano in the entrance hall. As this is a period property, be aware that there are cottage-style stairs and the bedrooms in the eaves have restricted head height. Outside, the spacious grounds house a large lawn, patio, hot tub, BBQ and wood-fired pizza oven. There is a small pond with safety grid - care to be taken with dogs and children.

The Manifold Track is a pretty route that takes you through the Manifold and Hamps Valleys for 9.5 miles, to the nearby village of Hulme End. Bikes can be hired in Waterhouses and along the route you can climb up to Thor’s Cave, where the views are spectacular. You’ll find ample walking opportunities within the Longshaw Estate (28 miles), from woodland rambles to moorland hikes. Within the estate is the mystical Padley Gorge, where you can paddle in the pretty stream, marvel at the tumbling waterfalls and enjoy lunch at one of the picturesque picnic spots.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We recently stayed at The Old Beams cottage and absolutely loved it! Its location is perfect for access to lovely walks, the local pubs and small shop. There is plenty of space for 12 adults, plenty of hot water and there is plenty of cooking equipment. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The hot tub is fabulous and very well positioned in a conceRead morealed (from the wind) location in the pretty rear garden. We would like to stay in the summer to make more use of the outside space too. Hide

We had a fantastic time at Old Beams, five couples and two babies and we had plenty of room to spread out. The weather was terrible but that meant we made full use of the house with meals in the conservatory, log fire and games. The hot tub is a great addition. Hosts were super welcoming and helpful, looking forward to hopefully coming back!
