Property code: PK463

Beautifully converted barn with spacious and light interior featuring exposed beams and enjoying far-reaching countryside views. Located on the edge of a peaceful hamlet within walking distance of the local pub.

The property sits on the edge of the pretty hamlet of Little Longstone. Just three miles from Bakewell, it boasts an unusual Victorian chapel and 16th century inn. Guests can enjoy the wide range of excellent walks on offer nearby, which include routes to the neighbouring villages of Great Longstone and Ashford in the Water, or along the River Wye in the Monsal Dale.

A welcoming entrance hall, which doubles up as an alternative sitting area, leads you through to the impressive kitchen and dining room. With a beamed ceiling, wooden floor, farmhouse table and contrasting splash back tiles, this is a sociable and spacious family room in which to prepare and enjoy meals. The sitting room is bright and airy, with a sandstone wall, log burning fire and further exposed beams.  The ground floor bathroom has a shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.

Also on the first floor is the master bedroom, an impressive space with exposed ceiling beams and plenty of oak furniture. The second bedroom has been decorated in the same fresh style and has two single beds – perfect for children.  The bathroom on this floor has a mixer shower over the bath, WC and wash basin.

Outside there is a south facing patio area with table and chairs.  Bordered by a traditional dry stone wall, this area is a peaceful setting in which to enjoy a summer BBQ.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Light fittings in both bathrooms are illegal. You cannot change heating settings yourself you have to get the owner to do it! All of the wireless controls are out of sync and showing incorrect times so they come on randomly all through the day. Wireless boxes are filthy so would not want to touch them anyway. Ridiculous that you cannot control yourRead more own heating!! Total lack of attention to cleanliness. Stained pillow slips. Dust everywhere. I have lots more feedback if you want it! Hide

We loved our time at Orrs Barn, the location was perfect and the view was stunning. Very comfortable for us and the children. Sarah, the owner, could not have been more helpful or friendly. We have already asked about returning next year!

We love this cottage - been twice to stay. Its in the most perfect location, you feel miles away from anywhere but there are walls and a tremendous pub nearby. The owner always welcomes us and we love the size and layout. Perfect for us and highly recommended.

This is a lovely property in an excellent position - very quiet, no neighbours and fantastic views. The heating works well, so nice and cosy. The area surrounding the barn worked well for our two dogs, not totally secure but far enough away from the road provided they were supervised. The area is excellently placed for fantastic, beautiful walks anRead mored with four good pubs within 20 minutes walking distance. No hesitation in recommending it to others. Hide

Cottage is in a great location and excellent for dogs, garden is a sun trap and local pubs are all dog friendly. Just take a fly swat as surrounded by cows and sheep and were everywhere.
