Ideal for exploring the bustling market town of Bakewell, this pretty 18th-century stone cottage makes a fantastic holiday home for couples and small families. Offering light and welcoming accommodation for four guests, this lovely Grade-II listed Georgian property is a delightful base for exploring the beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park. Set close to the heart of the town, the cottage is ideal for eager walkers discovering this magnificent area’s quaint villages, stunning woodland and mysterious caverns, or for taking part in a range of activities including climbing, horse riding, fishing and fell running.

 

Entering this cosy and inviting property, the pretty lounge provides a warm and relaxing space to unwind in at the end of a great day out, with plenty of comfortable seating, TV/DVD and a wood burner set in a beautiful stone feature fireplace. Exploring further, the fully equipped kitchen/diner is a sociable space, perfect for cooking and enjoying your favourite family meals. The ground floor also has a charming, tiled bathroom. Upstairs, there are two bright and relaxing bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and decorated in soothing neutral tones: a king-size room and a twin room with 2’6” single beds. Outside, a small courtyard is to the front of the cottage, providing a pleasant spot for a morning coffee.

 

One of the Peak District’s most popular towns, Bakewell is famous as the home of the Bakewell Pudding, and has an enticing range of pubs, restaurants, galleries and cafes. Bakewell Old House Museum is within a quarter of a mile, and the town also marks the start of the car-free Monsal Trail. The cottage is a wonderful base for exploring the White Peak part of the district, with attractions including Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and the Nine Ladies Stone Circle (all within 4.5 miles).

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend in Pudding Cottage walking with friends. Communications with the owners was easy and replies were prompt. The welcome treats were much appreciated too. The cottage is small & cozy, especially with the fire lit. The location in Bakewell is perfect, although we found it challenging to find a space in the permit parRead moreking areas. A lovely cottage with my 5 star rating. Impossible not to get cosy even in mid winter. Beautifully decorated and attention to detail throughout. Would have given it 5 stars for everything and only dropped a star because only having a downstairs bathroom and steep stairs makes it a little hazardous for elderly visitors. The property is close to the town centre, so it is an ideal choice. It was very clean and the owner made us feel very welcome with a nice welcome pack.

We had a lovely stay in Bakewell. This cottage is perfectly situated to explore the town but also to get out around the Peaks. The parking was no trouble at all and the kitchen is well stocked with equipment. Fab little cottage. Small but perfectly formed for a family of 4. We loved the welcome gifts and the cottage is very well equipped - the cleaning products/provision are SO helpful when you are on holiday. Bathroom is lovely and big and we enjoyed using the log burner in the evening. Great cottage with all you need, we did all the tourist things and more ! Recommend the Woodyard for lovely food and the Queens head to have a good laugh with locals, so friendly.

A cosy and well-equipped cottage on a beautiful road in a quieter part of Bakewell. Tastefully furnished and lots of thoughtful touches by the owner. Very easy to get into town on foot to visit the excellent range of independent shops and restaurants. We really recommend.

Throughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. Marion responds quickly to queries and even let us know we had left something behind not long after we left so we were able to collect it. Look forward to staying again in the future.

Communication from the cottage owner was great before the stay, made me feel I was able to prepare properly for the holiday. The cottage kitchen was fully equipped and perfect for a family holiday. Rooms and beds were very comfortable. Excellent location with a really short walk in to the centre of Bakewell.

The cottage was well equipped throughout. The location to the centre of Bakewell is literally a couple of minutes walk, no car parking at the cottage but a permit is available via the owner for on street parking nearby.

Me, my partner and our dog had a lovely stay at the Pudding Cottage. The cottage was clean and perfect location just 2 minute walk into Bakewell town which has lots of shops, cafes, pubs etc. The owner left us a fresh Bakewell Tart, Milk and a bottle of wine which we felt was a lovely touch. The cottage was small but well equipped. It was within easy walking distance of Bakewell and convenient for surrounding areas.
