Deep in the heart of the striking Peak District, you’ll find the perfect country bolthole. Public footpaths lead from the doorstep across the surrounding rolling fields, while further afield the Peaks lie waiting, promising endless adventure. Sleeping six (plus one furry friend), small families and groups will feel right at home here, although we recommend linking with the property next door to sleep 12. All three barn conversions on the complex can be booked together to sleep 22, making this a great choice for celebrations and reunions.

Stepping into the welcoming accommodation, you’ll immediately notice the huge glass window that spans two storeys, letting light flood into the spacious open-plan entertaining area, as well as providing enviable views from two of the three first-floor bedrooms. Gather around the large dining table, which seats 12+, for a big breakfast as you plan the day ahead, or simply enjoy your morning coffee alfresco in the enclosed private patio area. There is also a large enclosed communal courtyard which makes an excellent spot for an evening BBQ; afterwards, head to the on-site games room (shared with the neighbouring properties), which will entertain all ages.

Climb Solomon’s Temple, just 4.5 miles from the barn, and enjoy the incredible views from the top, which on a clear day reach as far as Kinder Scout - the Peak District’s highest point. Visit the ‘Stonehenge of the Peak District’ at Arbor Low (6.5 miles), the region’s most important prehistoric site where some 50 limestone slabs lie surrounding a central stone ‘cove’. For a more relaxing day, why not enjoy a morning exploring the stunning Chatsworth House, Farm Shop and Gardens, which lie 13.5 miles away, then visit Bakewell (9 miles) for one of their famous tarts?

We enjoyed a long weekend with friends in this wonderful cottage. Very warm and welcoming. Immaculately clean. Everything we needed. An en suite bathroom for each couple was brilliant. We would definitely stay here again.
