Beautifully decorated 100-year-old stone cottage which has been decorated with a mix of traditional features and contemporary style and offers ample space for guests, both inside and out.

This charming cottage, in a beautiful location in the Derwent Valley, sleeps four guests, making it ideal for a small family holiday or a couples’ retreat. As expected, the area is awash with walking opportunities, from the magical waterside strolls at Padley Gorge to long, exhilarating hikes across the moors of the Longshaw Estate (both 3 miles). The property is also just 6 miles from the lively market town of Bakewell, with its plethora of quaint tearooms serving the town’s iconic pudding – the perfect fuel after a day of exploring!

Steps lead you through the pretty front garden to the 100-year-old cottage. Once inside, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome, with plenty of cosy accessories and soft furnishings to create a home-away-from-home atmosphere. The lounge/diner is a lovely place in which to unwind after a busy day. Enjoy a hearty meal around the dining table, before retreating to one of the plump sofas to warm your toes in front of the roaring wood burner. After a good night’s sleep in one of the two bedrooms, gather around the breakfast table in the kitchen to plan the day’s itinerary, using the handy map which fills one of the walls. The property has plenty of outdoor space, including a courtyard, summerhouse, patio with seating and a large lawn which children and dogs will adore.

The Longshaw Estate spans 1,600 acres and boasts dramatic moorland, gritstone edges and ancient woodland – the perfect place to escape the humdrum of everyday life. Head to the visitor centre for expert advice about walking in the area and be sure to pop into the tearoom to sample one of the delicious homemade treats. Within the Longshaw Estate, you’ll discover Padley Gorge – this enchanting area of gently flowing streams and tumbling waterfalls is the ideal spot for a paddle and a picnic on a hot day.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
