An ideal spot for those looking to explore and appreciate the awe-inspiring Peak District, the cottage is located within the grounds of a 500 year old hotel with picturesque gardens and formal woodlands that provide plenty of walking opportunities right from its doorstep. Centrally located, the property is only a drive away from the ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ country and the popular town of Holmfirth which has a wealth of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. You can easily reach the cosmopolitan cities of Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds from the cottage as well as popular destinations such as York and the Yorkshire Dales. Nearby attractions include National Trust properties and gardens for interesting day trips.

Enter the lounge as you step foot through the front door and be greeted with a light and spacious room with wooden floors and a flat screen TV. The well equipped kitchen provides the perfect space for cooking up a storm and the utility room has a washing machine and space to store your walking boots. Head up the steep cottage stairs to find three bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a single bed and one with bunk beds. There is a bathroom upstairs with a bath, WC and a separate shower cubicle.

Outside the property benefits from an enclosed garden with a BBQ and garden furniture which is a great place to unwind in the evening. Guests are also invited to explore the rest of the grounds as they wish. There is ample off road parking and a local shop and pub are within a mile of the property. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the restaurant and bar facilities at the hotel during their stay.

We cannot understand how previous guests did not rate this cottage as 5 out of 5. It is perfect for a family and dogs. The garden is self-contained ans secure and all of the facilities that you would wish for are available. Added to that, you have 26 acres of a former stately home on your doorstep. The locals are very friendly and we will return.
