Immerse yourselves in the beauty of the magnificent Peak District when you stay at this gorgeous, stone cottage overlooking rolling, green hills. Up to six guests and two of their canine companions can stay at the delightful, three-bedroom home, which nestles in tranquil surroundings close to Gratton, 7 miles from Bakewell. Stroll into this traditional, rustic home to find accommodation that is both stylish and comfortable. From the hall, there is access to the family bathroom, as well as the inviting, beamed lounge, which is down a few stairs. Light the wood burner in here on chilly evenings, then listen to music through the Bluetooth speaker or play a game together. You could even choose a film to watch on TV or DVD. Find the well-equipped kitchen/diner has a farmhouse feel and plenty of space to prepare and enjoy hearty meals. On warm afternoons, open the French doors in here to let in a cool breeze. Follow the kitchen stairs up to a king-size bedroom, with en-suite shower room. Two more flights of stairs from the hall lead up to a double room and a king-size room. Both king-size rooms at the cottage have pull-out single beds. Spill out into the shared garden with its glorious backdrops on sunny days to watch the children and dogs play on the grass. Find parking for four cars at the cottage.

Plan trips into Bakewell, the largest town in the Peak District National Park. Browse in the shops; try the famous pudding in a cafe and spend time at the market. Pick up the 8.5-mile, traffic-free Monsal Trail here too.

Excellent location for a peaceful stay with amazing views over the countryside. The property is well equipped. It would have been helpful to know in advance that when dogs are outside they need to be on leads and that the garden is shared with the neighbours.

Spout Cottage is a lovely property in an amazing setting. If you are looking for a rural getaway, this is it. My only thought would be if you are visiting with a dog, be aware the garden is a shared space with access out onto the lane so make sure your dog likes strangers and like to escape. Otherwise I would highly recommend this property, it's a Read morereal treat. Hide
