Detached cottage nestled on top of a hill with no neighbours this is a special place to relax and unwind with good company, great for couples and small families wanting a rural Peak District escape

Take in sweeping views out across Derbyshire and towards the Peak District from this beautiful stone barn near Tansley. Set in glorious countryside, approximately 1.5 miles from Matlock, the stone property sleeps four guests across two bedrooms and could be perfect for a small family or two couples holidaying together. Light the wood burner; lose yourselves in the views and relax inside or out at this magical barn.

Arrive at this home-from-home and spread out into the inviting, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax on the comfortable seating, while the wood burner crackles close by; switch on the Smart TV to select your evening’s viewing. Prepare meals for your party in the kitchen area, then gather at the table to eat, chat and savour the holiday ambience. At the end of each lively day, climb the stairs to the super-king-size bedrooms, both of which can be arranged as twins if requested in advance. Find the exquisitely decorated bathroom, with walk-in shower and bath, is up here too. Spend as much time as possible outside, immersing yourselves in the scenery and taking in the fresh air. Discover plenty of parking at the barn.

Pack a picnic, lace up your boots and head straight out from home on long walks or cycle rides. Enjoy a 3-mile circular walk, passing through the picture-postcard village of Riber and capturing superb views. Stroll just 1 mile to see the Lumsdale Waterfall. Venture into Matlock for the afternoon to shop for local produce, potter in independent outlets and possibly dine out while you are here. Hop aboard a steam train from Matlock to Rowsley to savour a magical journey through undulating, Derbyshire countryside. Head 3 miles to the spectacular Heights of Abraham to look out across your surroundings from high up on a cable car above the Derwent Valley.

This was our second stay at Springfield Barn and was just as enjoyable as the first! The cottage is beautifully kept and the views are fantastic. There are helpful suggestions of things to do and places to visit. The homemade cake and milk fresh from the dairy were the icing on the cake!

A Wonderful cottage in a great location in its own Grounds within the Debyshire Dales. A Comfortable Holiday accommodation suitable for a family of 4 or just a couple. The owners Dairy farm is at the bottom of the Driveway and worth a visit.

Fantastic location for trips in to the peak district. The downstairs was spacious and excellent facilities to allow for making meals, whilst also having a decent pub nearby for food out. Excellent all round property. One of the best we have stayed in with regards to location, cleanliness & comfort. The equipment level was superb without the clutter. The owners (Kim) are very friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble even to sorting out the waste bins on bin day! Excellent property at an excellent location. We really appreciated the cake and the milk straight from the farm, both of which were delicious. The fresh flowers were also much appreciated. The barn is very comfortable and spacious with everything needed for an enjoyable stay. There is a great seating area above and behind the barn though, with the Read moreexceedingly good weather in the first week of September, we made just as much use of the area at the front of the barn, under the trees. A lovely, comfortable barn with fantastic views. The beds were lovely and comfortable and there was plenty of space outside to run around with the children but also sit back and enjoy the views. Modern and clean and to top it all walking distance to a great local pub.

We had a fantastic stay at Springfield Barn - a great property with fantastic views in a lovely area. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped and our hosts had baked a cake and left milk fresh from their cows that day which was a really welcoming touch. We would definitely recommend it!

The cottage was perfect, the views were wonderful and I loved watching the cows going in for milking. We had one small problem whilst staying there, Kim and George sorted it out straight away. The extras were very welcome and the soaps were a lovely touch. Great position for visiting so many places in the Peak District. Thank you for a great stay.

Lovely location and very accommodating host who spent their free time taking us on a tour of the farm that the kids loved. Great pub at bottom of the hill and brilliantly located for the local attractions. Wish I had that same view from my sink when doing the dishes at home!

This Property is a gem!!. We have stayed at many places over the years and we can honestly say this has been the best we have stayed in. The property is beautiful and the views are stunning!!. Location is great and the local pub serves some great food. Lots of places to visit in the local area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning.

What a beautiful barn, with spectacular views. With a lovely cake and a bottle of milk to enjoy on arrival we couldn't fault a thing while staying here. We loved this cottage. It felt so remote whilst being just 10 mins from Matlock and a few minutes walk to a pub with a childrens play area and great food. The beds were really comfortable and there were plenty of places to sit and enjoy the stunning views over the valley. We absolutely loved our stay at Springfield Barn. Kim and George made us feel welcome, including taking time to show us round the farm and even get involved at milking time! The cottage is beautiful, with fantastic views over the Dales and a great location set up the hill away from the main farm buildings.

High on a hill, the cottage is surrounded by fields and has a glorious view across the valley to Riber Castle. Only the birds to disturb you. We had a brilliant stay at this lovely barn conversion. From the moment we walked in it felt extremely comfortable and welcoming. The barn is in a quiet but very convenient location with stunning distant views. If we return to Derbyshire in the future we would definitely stay there again, and have already recommended it to our friends.

Wow!! This barn conversion is just lovely, the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many! It is pristinely clean, the sofa and beds comfortable and the views are to die for. Kim is so lovely as a host and the cake and fresh milk was much appreciated. Out little boy (6) loved the tour of the Dairy - as did we!! Thank uou again Kim.

We had a wonderful stay. The property was perfect for us. The location is beautiful with views over the valley and our son loved standing at the windows watching the tractors drive past. Couldn't fault the property at all. Loved the welcome cake and milk too. Lovely touch.

Really quiet and private cottage, very comfortable with a spacious feel and a well thought out layout, especially the bedrooms. Ideally situated for Matlock and surrounding villages, gardens and countryside - you dont have to travel far to find plenty of places to visit and explore.

Marsh Green farm shop is nearby for supplies and it has a lovely restaurant.
