Whether you are planning a couples’ retreat or your first family adventure with youngsters in tow, this stone cottage is ideal for your getaway. Found 3 miles away from Chapel-en-le-Frith yet close to the heart of the Peak District National Park, your surroundings are a natural playground for adventure. Walk, cycle and visit exciting destinations such as National Trust sites and eerie caverns, refuelling with hearty pub lunches and picnic teas. However you spend your days, your comfortable abode sleeps four and has all the home comforts you need for your stay.

Arranged across two levels with two comfortable bedrooms upstairs and a wood burner crackling away in the lounge, this homely property is a joy to return to after your outdoor escapades. Cook your meals in the compact kitchen, watch family films in the open-plan lounge/diner or head outside to the shared garden for al fresco drinks whilst the children play on the swing. There’s no need to worry about muddy shoes, the hallway doubles as a useful boot room for storing all your outdoor gubbins. Completing the property is a generous shower room that features a walk-in shower.

Chapel-en-Le-Frith was once the historic capital of this heather-strewn wilderness, and it has much to offer in the way of history and charm. Take a self-guided tour of the town, visit the Memorial Park and hunker down in a tearoom for a bite to eat. Golf enthusiasts have the bonus of the celebrated 18-hole course nearby, but the town has a rolling calendar of events that are guaranteed to add some extra wow factor to your holiday. For the smallest members of your family, Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground (18.5 miles) promises fun and frolics but your adrenaline-junkie in training will also love Go Ape at Buxton 9.5 miles away.

A beautifully converted old farm building in a very quiet rural setting. Light and airy , tastefully and comfortably furnished. Very comfortable beds and good quality bedding. It's a lovely cottage; it's got everything you need to enjoy a holiday in the Peak District. The owners, who live close by, are very welcoming. The location is excellent. The cottage is right by the Pennine Bridleway and Edale, where the Pennine Way starts, is just a 5km walk over the hills.

Great location for walking. Comfortable and well equipped cottage, spotlessly clean. Rooms have been finished to a high standard, particularly the living room and bathroom. We enjoyed the amazing view of the peaceful valley while sitting out in the garden. Andrew and Vanessa were very welcoming.
