Impeccably furnished and well equipped, the cottage was in a stunning locality. We walked out and visited the Norman church and saw some Alpaca's. The village residents were very friendly and we had an amazing meal at the local pub. A much needed weekend break in a beautiful area and the cottage was the icing on top of the cake

Great location and well stocked with all you would need, Brassington is a great little village in a great location for getting around. The cottage was pretty small and ideally for 4 people I would say, it was very cramped at night in the lounge as there is only enough seating for 4 people. Car parking also proved to be problematic on the weekend, bRead moreut I would think this would apply to anywhere you stay in the village. Hide

Very comfortable cottage which stayed cool even in the July heatwave. We were able to enjoy breakfast as well as barbecues in the garden. There was enough room for six adults and a dog. Excellent walks from the house including to Carsington Water. Make sure you shop before you come as there are 2 nice pubs which are walkable and dog friendly but noRead more local shop. Hide

Whilst the cottage had 4 bedrooms suggesting that it was suitable for 4 adults and some children the lounge was smallish and would be a tight squeeze , particularly if the children were older. However there was only two of us and our two dogs and the cottage was fine for us. It was exceptionally well equipped and clean. A really lovely cottage situated in a wonderful village. From the moment we arrived we felt incredibly welcome. A basket full of delightful gifts was waiting for us in the property, a super touch, and the sweets were much appreciated by the younger member of our party. We then ventured up to one of the two pubs in the village, The Olde Gate Inn, weRead more can't recommend this establishment high enough. The Miners Arms, the other pub was equally as welcoming and the walks that we took were stunning. Hide

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage - 4 adults and 2 dogs. Beds were really comfy, cottage was warm and clean, small enclosed garden was really helpful for dogs. We would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Very clean and comfortable property in a lovely village. The barn is really well laid and fitted out. The wood burner was a bonus for the cold evenings but the whole of the barn is well heated. We were pleased it has a parking space as it is a popular village. Ye Olde Gate Inn should not be missed - excellent food. We would love to stay here again.Read more Hide

We had a lovely stay in this cozy and picturesque cottage. The owners had put loads of thought into all the details and there was a very generous welcome basket. It was perfect for our girly weekend, with lovely walks and local pubs and a wood burning stove to snuggle up in front of with some bubbly.
