This beautiful cottage provides a charming home away from home. Situated in the heart of a pretty Peak District village this is a relaxing retreat for the whole family.

The property sits on the edge of the pretty hamlet of Little Longstone, close to local beauty spot Monsal Head. Just three miles from Bakewell, Little Longstone boasts an unusual Victorian chapel and 16th century inn. For walkers and cyclists, the nearby trails across the Monsal and Millers Dales are not to be missed. Elsewhere, the English grandeur of Chatsworth House and its parklands offer a great place to spend the day exploring. The picturesque market town of Bakewell and the historical villages of Eyam and Foolow with its village green and duck pond, are just a short drive away.

Heading into the property, which is situated next to the owners' home, you will be stepping into the bright and airy lounge with beautiful big glass doors that let the light flood in. There is ample comfortable seating and Smart TV to relax in front of after a hard day climbing the hills. The stylish kitchen/diner offers everything you need such as, electric oven and induction hob, fridge with ice compartment, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave, and the farmhouse dining table provides the perfect spot to plan the days activities over a brew. Upstairs the property offers two bedrooms, one super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request), with a daybed which is perfect for a little one and the stylish shower room for this bedroom is just off the landing. There is a second bedroom with king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request) just over the hallway with an en-suite bathroom with WC.

To the front on the property is a private enclosed courtyard garden area with ample space for parking and a seating area and charcoal BBQ. Storage for bikes is available in the outbuilding at the main house next door.

This was one of the best cottages I have ever stayed in, it was lovely clean and comfortable and when I needed anything it was there. It was also in a very convenient location with an excellent pub in the village. Thanks to the owners they have done a great job.

The cottage at Barn end is a perfect place to stay in the peaks. It is very comfortable, warm, well equipped and generously supplied. Beautiful walks from the front door, many good pubs nearby and well placed to explore the lovely Peak District.

This is a beautiful cottage, furnished to a high standard. It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. Great location for the Monsal Trail and 2 pubs. We enjoyed our stay very much, was a great accommodation for a family.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District. Children enjoyed cycling the Monsal Trail, splashing in the fountain at Thornbridge Gardens and Paddle boarding at Carsington. There were lovely walks on the door step including Ashford on the Water and Bakewell. Three great pubs within walking distance meant we dRead moreidn't need to go far for dinner. Great cottage. Great location. Very peaceful yet only a short walk from the local pub and the one in the next village, both great food. Such a lovely cottage 2 mins walk from Monsal head. Comfy beds, well equipped, and plenty of hot water. Despite it being mid May it was chilly in the morning and evening so the heating was very welcome. Such a lovely area with fantastic pubs within walking distance. Thankyou

This was our second visit to the cottage and we loved it just as much this time. Lovely, warm, cosy cottage - very welcoming. Even better this time as Jo & Mark have bought a new smart TV for the lounge. The weather wasn't great this year so the home comforts were even more important. Already looking at dates to book again. First class stay at this beautiful cottage in the Peak District. This is a five star place to stay. No complaints whatsoever. Everything is of a good quality and very presentable. Will hopefully be returning to this cottage next year when it is available.

Wonderful Derbyshire retreat. Great location with Mondale Head approximately 200 yards from property. The owners keep it beautiful and very clean. Nearest pub is walking distance and serves lovely food. Definitely recommend Barn End and hope to go back there.

This cottage had everything we needed and all in a great central location to see the sights of the Peak District. We loved this property its clean and bright and well appointed ,its a real home from home. We love the location with great walks from your door and easy access to the Monsal trail for traffic free cycling.
