Standing in five acres of the owners’ beautiful grounds of Moorfield House this former billiard hall is tucked away in the mature gardens, providing a relaxing escape with surrounding countryside.

There is so much to see and do, with the Pennine Way within two miles and the peaks of Kinder Scout and Bleaklow within easy reach. The market town of Glossop, with its transport links to Manchester and local towns is also close by. Other attractions further afield include the Blue John Mines, Treak Cliff Cavern and Speedwell Cavern, a flooded underground cave system that is explored by boat. Well worth a visit is Lyme Park and Hall where Pride and Prejudice was filmed in 1995 and Peveril Castle, situated near Castleton built in 1080. Derwent Valley with a picturesque series of dams and reservoirs where the 'dam busters' trained. In the immediate vicinity of Moorfield are the hills, valleys and streams that make up The Peak District National Park.

Stepping into the stunning open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which is incredibly spacious, the kitchen area offers electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and there is a dining table large enough to comfortably seat four people. Leading onto the lounge area with comfortable seating, reclining sofa and double sofa bed, TV/DVD and table football for some competitive fun, the huge windows frame the stunning gardens that surround you. The downstairs bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC. Meandering up the feature staircase to the mezzanine floor which offers a king-size bed, hanging space for clothes and a dressing area. Feel like the king or queen of the castle looking over the accommodation below, with the stunning carved beams sweeping over the bed providing a very characterful escape.

Heading outside, there is a patio area which guests are welcome to use and enjoy the summer nights with a relaxing drink and watch the birds in the mature trees that surround you. There is ample off-road parking directly outside the property.

Lovely place to stay which made us feel home away from home. Exactly like the photos! The location is great, there bunnies running around the beautiful garden and everything nice in in the Peak District is no more than 30 min away. Warmly suggested!

A truly beautiful location, peaceful and picturesque. Wonderful character to the property but the bathroom is a tad cramped and the extractor fan is intrusive. A summer stay here would be idyllic. The carport was full of clutter during our stay but dont let that stop you experiencing a chance to relax in a wonderful location.
