Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, the property is a fantastic base for exploring the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District. This peaceful retreat is set on a working farm and has a soothing hot tub and glorious rural views.

Featuring exposed beams and a wood burner in a stone fireplace, the delightful lounge is an ideal space to snuggle in the evenings and watch a movie on the Smart TV. The light and friendly kitchen/diner has a wide range of equipment, with a farmhouse-style dining table providing a perfect spot for sharing a favourite family meal. Upstairs, there’s a stylish bathroom and three cosy and welcoming bedrooms. The bedrooms are made up of one king-size room with exposed beams, a Smart TV and a picture window offering views over the valley, one king-sing-size room which can be made up as a twin on request, and a charming single room ideal for children. The enclosed courtyard garden has plenty of outdoor furniture and a fantastic wood-fired hot tub, offering plenty of space to unwind.

Ideal for exploring the southern stretches of the Peak District, this beautiful barn conversion is just a couple of miles from the lively market town of Matlock, which has plenty of great places to eat and drink. A public footpath leads directly from the farm onto a woodland walk. The area has a wealth of landmarks and attractions including the Heights of Abraham, the National Stone Centre, Gulliver’s Kingdom, Chatsworth House, the Peak District Mining Museum, Lumsdale Waterfall and Magpie Mine (all within 13 miles).

The cottage is beautiful and set in a great location with beautiful views. Its in driving distance to many places such as Matlock, Bakewell, and Chatsworth house. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and very cosy. Our dog was in her element and loved walking into the surrounding fields. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cosy everything you could wish for. The kitchen offered every appliance you would ever need with a great stove. Bedrooms very comfortable with lots of storage.

We had the most magical time staying in the old carthouse. It was bright, clean, cosy and incredibly well equipped. The courtyard was just gorgeous - we sat out under the twinkly lit pergola each evening enjoying the big skies and hot tub. Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Very comfortable with everything you need to have a great holiday. The hot tub was very welcome in the blistering heatwave and was really easy to use. The garden area is so well set out with 2 seating areas. All in all a great holiday.

The Old Carthouse was exemplary and very splendid. Beautifully conserved building, excellently appointed, amidst the wonderful Matlock and Derwent Valley landscape. The private courtyard, dining and BBQ space .. and the hot-tub .. were also a special luxury. The welcome from the owners was warm and friendly. A great holiday. Thank you.

What an amazing place! We loved our stay and the two dogs were secure so we didnt have to worry. We walked every day and the hot tub was extremely welcome of an evening. The old cart house is beautiful and we could have stayed longer!! Well definitely be back!!

This was our first holiday with our pup! Being a bouncy golden retriever who will walk and walk, the location was fab! Enough room for her to explore in the secure courtyard and chill in front of the log burner after exploring the local woods, waterfall and streams all day! This is an amazing holiday destination. The setting, and scenery are absolutely stunning - and this is matched by the property itself.
