Wander through the light reception hall into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom. This splendid space, with a stone floor and under floor heating, is bright and airy throughout. Light a fire in the wood burner then settle down in front of the Smart TV, which comes with Netflix, to watch a film together. Amble through into the kitchen area to make a pot of tea or pour yourselves a glass of wine. Cook dinner in here too then dine together at the table. Lay your heads in the super-king-size bed after each of your busy days out and find you have an exquisitely finished bathroom for enjoying a long, hot soak. Make the most of the covered hot tub throughout the seasons. Dine out here too on warm days, gazing out across the enclosed, private, 0.5-acre garden, where there’s a brook. There is parking for two cars at the holiday home.
Dine out at the pub in the village or head into Matlock for a plethora of eateries to choose from. While away the hours browsing in the shops here too; book a ticket on a steam train from Matlock to Rowsley to take in the magnificent Derbyshire scenery. Drive 3 miles to the Heights of Abraham to travel on a cable car between limestone cliffs and to look out over the Derwent Valley.
