Located midway between Buxton and Bakewell, this spot makes a perfect base from which to explore the two towns and surrounding areas. There are many excellent picturesque walks from the doorstep, nearby Monsal Dale, with its famous trail, Millers Dale and High Dale are only a short walk away. Walkers can enjoy spectacular views and the opportunity to observe an abundance of wildflowers, animals and birdlife. For those seeking the grandeur of the English country houses, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive from the property, make sure you stop and visit the popular Chatsworth Farm Shop and stock up on goodies.

We’re thrilled to welcome this pretty cottage into our Joules Collection; look out for stylish touches throughout which highlight the quintessentially British features of this beautiful historic property.

Wander through the beautiful garden to the front door of this lovely cottage. Ste[p straight into the beautiful dining room which is a perfect space for any celebration dinner and features a wood burner providing that extra special dining experience. The farmhouse-style kitchen to the right is a wonderful space to rustle up a meal for the family. Guests can really get stuck into country life by cooking on the traditional Aga. There is also an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave and enjoy a lazy breakfast around the farmhouse table. Moving along the cottage, there is a unique oak-panelled study with comfortable seating and a wood burner, a relaxing space to unwind and chat with loved ones. A few steps lead you to the lounge with sofas to curl up on with a good book or in front of the TV/DVD with Netflix. There is a handy utility space located off the lounge with a washing machine and a shower room with shower and WC. The first floor is accessed via two separate staircases: one leading up to two king-size bedrooms with mullioned windows which provide delightful views beyond the gardens; the twin bedroom offers the same beautiful views. There is a bathroom with rainfall shower over roll-top bath and opposite is a separate WC. Accessed via a separate staircase is the beautiful, bright and airy double bedroom with en-suite WC.

Outside you'll find the icing on the cake: a large southeast -facing garden including a natural stone paved terrace which adjoins the property, as well as seating to relax and enjoy the summer sun. The large lawned gardens are studded with mature trees providing the perfect place for kids to run off some energy. This lovely garden also has a seating area in the potting shed with pretty festoon lights for summer evenings and a BBQ. There is also a further garden area with a natural fire pit, perfect to sit around and cosy up in front whilst watching the stars. There is a driveway with parking for two cars and a layby opposite the property with parking for a further two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The most beautiful, well equipped cottage just perfect for a family weekend. The garden is stunning with long ranging views and the bed linen and furnishings are comfortable and stylish. I'm familiar with an AGA but for those who aren't an explanation in the cottage guide would be helpful. Priestcliffe itself is a rural hamlet but many of the main Read morePeak District attractions are a short drive away. This is a gem of a location and a stunning property. Very quiet and ideal for exploring local places of interest. We had a family reunion at this beautiful cottage with a fabulous garden. The cottage was extremely well equipped. We loved everything about it although we did struggle slightly with the Aga, but once we got used to it all was fine. Lovely walks right by the cottage.

We were welcomed by a warm and nicely furnished home. The supply of logs for the wood burners in all three downstairs rooms was very much appreciated. This is the most beautiful cottage we have ever stayed in! Our ideal Escape to the country home. Full of character and so welcoming. Cottage and grounds were lovely . Our 3year old grandson loved the gardens and piggery area was excellent. House had character although more stairs than we originally envisaged. There were 6 of us plus the 3 year old and we all had a great stay .

Lovely, quirky cottage with a stunning, well kept garden set in a beautiful, quiet location. We loved the piggery and gas BBQ area. Close to many areas of interest eg Chatsworth House, Monsal Trail, Blue John Mines, Carsington Water Park or Tittesworth Water Park and its a walkers paradise with walks straight from the door.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was really lovely, clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our family to come together and spend time together, The garden was magnificent and we were lucky enough to have fabulous weather to enjoy it to it's full. We will stay again next year.

Fantastic holiday home and even better garden - with room to play football, sit round fire pits and eat at the table, all at the same time. Only downside is the lack of amenities in Priestcliffe- didn't bother us, but might be a consideration.

An absolutely idyllic cottage. Beautiful location and a perfect garden for children to play in and adults to relax in. We enjoyed the fire pit (and theres also a BBQ) for dinner around the campfire. For covid reasons many of the soft furnishings were removed but it was still a tastefully furnished and comfortable cottage. Even nicer than the picturRead morees. We slept well and woke to the sound of sheep in the nearby field. You have to drive to get to shops or pubs. Perfect for long country walks. Hide

Loved the property, location and amazing garden. The owner was amazing when dealing with a issue that arose. Please note this house is very old and this needs to be taken into consideration when booking. We were very lucky to be the first to use the brand new kitchen which was spotlessly clean.
